Head of Product Management

As part of our hypothesis driven, analytical approach to our product, we are looking for a rock star Head of Product to join our team. The person will own all aspects of product management for the company including the product strategy + roadmap.
Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will be hands on, data driven and extremely detail oriented. We use a hypothesis driven approach that focuses on launching MVP versions of features and then analyzing the data to rapidly test and iterate.

Responsibilities

  • Assume ownership of metrics and performance for the features, functions, and usage of the LearnStreet service.
  • Intimately understand our core user personas and relentlessly pursue how we can delight them through product vision, experimentation, validation, and execution.
  • Collaborate with visual designers, user experience leads, developers, and executive team to drive the product roadmap, vision, and priorities.
  • Author requirements and user stories for new features and the continuous improvement of existing features.
  • Understand user behavior through metrics analysis, user feedback, and usability testing.
    Communicate product performance and user insights across the organization.

Requirements

  • 2+ years demonstrated product management experience with one or more consumer-facing web products.
  • Self-starter with a passion for creating outstanding user experiences and products people love to use.
  • Avid consumer/user of product metrics and Excel. Demonstrated experience using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Omniture, Optimizely, in-house solutions, etc.).
  • Demonstrated discipline of user, usability, and A/B testing to test, predict, and validate expected outcomes from the release of product features. Exposure to multivariate testing.

Content Architect

As LearnStreet’s Content Architect, first and foremost you should love teaching. You will lead the overall design and structure of our educational content. You will establish the educational content standards for all of LearnStreet -- which includes conceiving of and developing your own learning content in addition to guiding and directing the learning content contributions of other LearnStreet employees and faculty.

Collaborating with fellow team experts in user experience, product design, and product development, you will also be responsible for establishing the LearnStreet pedagogy, designing LearnStreet instruction so that it can build upon itself to help students solve ever more diverse and complex technical problems. You will also conceptually design our learning programs to address different desired student outcomes.

Requirements

  • Solid expertise as an instructor, teaching assistant, educational content author, or PhD student in computer science -- with demonstrated instructional design experience for multiple courses or learning programs.
  • Demonstrated excellence at creative and technical writing.
  • Hands-on implementation experience with, and demonstrated conceptual understanding of, multiple programming languages -- preferably in a Web programming environment (e.g., JavaScript, CSS, Ruby, PHP, etc.).

Lead UI Engineer

Collaborating with fellow team experts in user experience, product design, and software engineering, you will be responsible for leading the development of LearnStreet’s innovative user interface for Web, mobile, and third-party applications.

The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Javascript/jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3. They will have created or used UI frameworks and standards in their previous roles to make themselves and the teams around them more consistent, efficient, and error-free. They will enjoy the challenges of developing simple-but-effective user-centric interfaces around entirely new online experiences and workflows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years developing web application front ends using Javascript/Ajax/CSS/XHTML. Experience with JavaScript design patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams of developers.
  • Expert proficiency creating cross-browser/cross-platform UI code.
  • Experience developing in HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Hands-on exposure to ember.js or backbone.js.

UI/UX Designer

In this role, you will help create intuitive, usable and visually appealing user interfaces for online programming education. As part of the product development team, you will help define user models and interfaces for new and existing LearnStreet products and features, develop storyboards and mockups to communicate design ideas, assess the usability of new and existing products, and make constructive suggestions for changes. Background in interaction design is helpful.
