A leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Tuesday vowed to cement exchanges with the Communist Party of Spain.
He Guoqiang, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks while meeting with Jose Luis Centella, secretary-general of the Communist Party of Spain.
The CPC attaches great importance to relations with Spanish political parties, including the Communist Party of Spain, and will boost party-to-party exchanges in a bid to benefit the two peoples, said He, who is also head of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Party's internal anti-graft body.
He also hailed China-Spain relations, saying bilateral ties are now at their best stage since the forging of diplomatic ties 37 years ago.
He said China will work with Spain, an important member of the European Union (EU), to promote stable and healthy China-Spain and China-EU relations.
Centella expressed his hope of enhancing exchanges with the CPC, saying his party admires the CPC's achievements in self building and the promotion of governance capabilities.
