Can you please let me know how to remove the black bar from Google's home page? This new bar is annoying. Please, please I really like Google because is simple, please don't make me switch to another search engine.
This thing is horrible and messing with my mind after so many years of a nice clean white page in the morning, I'm not sure if I'm going to pass out or spew
I guarantee all of you that Google spent a lot of time on testing to ensure that placing the black bar there was a good idea. Please relax and you'll find it doesn't bother you. Surely it doesn't ruin your search experience like some of you suggest in all capitals.
The Black Bar Sucks Big Time - Clean white and non invasive when searching. People are only there for one thing to search for information. All your bar does is take the focus away from surfing. It doesn't even make a point of advertising. You provide a service you need to check with your users before changing your look one wrong move when changing an image means very bad marketing. I am in a town(with a Scottish heritage) in NZ where the rugby players called highlanders change from highland colours to irish green colours all on a marketing whim - they turned the majority of the lower south island of NZ against the team and rugby- Marketing can be the biggest cock up!!
I swear .. google's do no evil needs to f**king go. its bullsh*t they make these sweeping changes, they don't give users a preference, and that's the most f**king evil thing of all to do... change stuff and not give users a choice.. much like the Youtube queue bar.. *I NO LONGER USE* the queue .. *NEVER AGAIN* I hate that f**king queue bar.. so then it looks like I'm going to stop using google as my search engine!
I'm tired of it ... and google needs to stop the bullsh*t!!
Wow, the top bar is now the most distracting thing ever. It makes your eyes move back to the top of the page. What happened to plain and simple?!?!?!?!?!
I click on the answers and there are no answers! I just get redirected to everyone asking for the same help. What gave google the right to change our defaults and page without giving an option?
Blue letters with a white background in the previous Bar had a real nice look and feel. In fact the color light blue is known to be more appealing to the Human mind. The old interface was really pleasant to look at and was uncluttered. This hideous Black bar with ridiculous grey fonts and with white high-lighting is a real bad choice by google. If they want to appeal to the users of cell phones and other devices with going black, it is ok. But, at least give us Desktop/Laptop/Netbook users the choice to turn of this abomination. Put a toggle button! I don't think it takes a huge amount of work to code for it! :( Bah!
I hate the black bar too - use Zuula instead http://www.zuula.com/ It's a meta-search engine, so you can still get google search results without their design crud.
Who is the genius who decided a huge deep black bar on a white background, an historical landmark of the web, symbol of your company succes, was a good idea? Someone coming from Bing? Please, turn it back to plain white as before... or let me choose a "classic" skin.
The problem I have with the black bar like many of
the other Google 'improvements' is the image I get of a team of jumped
up, overpaid time wasters huddled around a desk desperately tying to
find new areas of improvement to please the managers and by 5:30 on the
dot, dropping their pens and going home; sleeping like babies. Even if
this is not the case (I doubt you use pens) that's the image you instill by making these
sweeping changes at the drop of a hat. You may as well write 'new
improved flavour' across the top and congratulate your marketing team
with payrises. Seriously, some of us work 18 hours a day to make a
living and these petulant alterations have a negative effect on the
usability and workflow for people in the real world. I have a bond with the Google the search engine, I DON'T have a bond with the bunch of coffee drinking bell-ends behind it. Or to put it another way, I like a burger and chips but I don't want to be reminded of the oaf that made it by finding a hair in my dinner. That what this black bar is, it's a pubic hair in my Google! Only difference is I can't send it back, so your asking me to leave it stuck in my teeth, how rude! Big long morning rant.......Done!

Get the message Google? Please do something about it !! If something works then leave the damn thing alone!
No doubt some of your staff can justify turning this bar black, but can you see from the overwelming no vote its getting that perhaps that one staff member who gained points at the weekly meeting for suggesting it can gain a few more points by saying "We got it wrong boss".
WHY DONT WE DUMP GOOGLE IF IT'S NOT BACK TO NORMAL IN 7 DAYS??
