Harbour congestion tax 'will anger some'

The New South Wales Government admits some people will be angry about the introduction of a congestion tax on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel.
From next Tuesday, the cost of using the crossings will rise to $4 during the morning and afternoon peak.
The cost will drop to $2.50 at night and on weekends.
The Acting Roads Minister, David Campbell, says he hopes the changes will reduce congestion.
"In my view, there's no doubt that some people will accept that this a changed way of collecting the toll," he said.
"Some people will be disappointed. Some people will be angry. Some people will change their driving patterns, and that's what we're aiming for them to do."
Mr Campbell says it is still not clear how the congestion tax will go.
"There's certainly a deal of wait and see about this, but the whole aim is to encourage people to travel outside the peak if possible,' he said.
