People often focus on table bloat in PostgreSQL, but index bloat is not discussed much. Index bloat happens when lots of deletions or updates are performed on an index causing dead tuples.
But wouldn't VACUUM reclaim those dead tuples?
Uber released a new article on the challenges they faced as they scaled CacheFront (integrated cache for their database). Mainly cache staleness and strong consistency.
