As Bill Plots Against Hayley, Dani Can’t Stop Thinking About That Elevator Tryst!

Having been released from the hospital — a fact that stuns Chelsea — Bill goes back to his happy place, aka the office. Dani says she’s hired a cleaning crew to pack up Hayley’s stuff, while Bill struggles with the fact that he was played. He also admits that his decision not to press charges may have protected Vernon and Martin, it also was for his own protection as he would have been implicated thanks to his having helped cover up the killing of the racist years ago.

Dani suggests that Hayley will get away with what she’s done, but Bill says the game might not be over just yet. “Hayley may have one this battle,” he muses, “but she has by no means won the war!” He plans to use the divorce papers as a way of tricking Hayley into thinking she’s getting more than she is. As Dani is leaving the office, she flashes back to her elevator romp with Bill. He, meanwhile, does a little office redecorating by smashing the photo of himself and Hayley into a million pieces!

Kat and Tomas Reconnect

As Tomas and Kat are having a strained conversation about their communication issues, Hayley approaches to reveal that the charges against her have been dropped. “I guess my public defender turned out to be a better lawyer than you,” shrugs Hayley of her former attorney. When she leaves, the couple put aside their issues to talk about Bill’s situation. Tomas worries that Bill will become the boss from hell, what with needing to punish someone, and Kat says if that happens, he should quit. Ironically, talking about Bill and Hayley gets Tomas and Kat back on the same page. He exits when Chelsea enters, clearing the way for cousin talk. They speculate about what Hayley might have on Bill.

 

  

Smitty Is Questioned Again

Martin’s campaign is hit with an October surprise thanks to the opposition finding out that Smitty was questioned in regards to Lia’s death. At the police station, Elon urges Jacob not to let the fact that Smitty is his friend and connected to the Duprees interfere with his investigation. When the results of the toxicology tests come in, Jacob calls Naomi — who is busy trying to talk Caroline into getting Bill to change his mind — and says they have more questions for Smitty. Having confirmed that the found pouch contained trace amounts of the drugs with killed her, Jacob wants to know if Smitty can explain how she got it. Smitty continues to claim innocence, saying the supposedly incriminating video is clearly a fake.

In Other News…

Naomi suggests that Caroline might be the one person who can talk sense into Bill. But his devoted associate suggests Dani is the real person who might be able to make a difference. When Hayley and Caroline wind up at Uptown, the schemer suggests they can still be friends. “I would rather have a flock of vultures peck my eyes out,” Caroline responds, adding she’s always despised Hayley, warning that the bad girl should watch her back. “Who knows? Maybe I’ll decide to take matters into my own hands,” Caroline smirks.
