SUMMARY:Open Cloud Infrastructure Solutions to Run HPC Workloads
DESCRIPTION:Stig Telfer (StackHPC Ltd, OpenStack Scientific SIG); Sadaf Al
am (University of Bristol); John Lowe (Indiana University); Henk-Jan Zilve
rberg (University of Groningen); Happy Sithole (Center for High Performanc
e Computing (CHPC), South Africa); Martial Michel (InfoTrend, OpenStack Sc
ientific SIG); and Paul Calleja (University of Cambridge)\n\nCloud-native
methods are increasingly used for HPC infrastructure. The advantages clai
med include agility in system management and flexible support of new and e
volving workflows.\n\nIn the last ten years, open cloud infrastructure has
become widespread in scientific computing and OpenStack is the dominant o
pen source cloud solution. The OpenStack Scientific SIG represents this c
ommunity.\n\nThis session brings together leading practitioners of OpenSta
ck and related technologies for open solutions in production operations.
The session will present current use cases of cloud-native open infrastruc
ture. The advantages and challenges of this approach will be presented.
Attendees will be invited to share experiences.\n\nTag: Cloud Computing\n\
nRegistration Category: Tech Program Reg Pass, Exhibits Reg Pass\n\n
