How to Make and Share Builds in the Minecraft Dungeons 2 Planner
If you're looking to theorycraft a new build, browse for something new to play or just share your Awesomeaxe with the community, Maxroll's Minecraft Dungeons 2 Planner is your one stop shop for all things build. You can select a melee weapon, ranged weapon, armor set, artifacts, and talismans. If you want to showcase multiple setups, that's where our variant system comes in. This can be used to show progression or give alternative setups like a higher damage (but squishier) version. You can also include pros/cons, add notes so people can follow along, and choose which items are showcased when you make your build public. Our planner has everything you need to make builds in Minecraft Dungeons 2.

- Use our Minecraft Dungeons 2 database to learn more about items like where they drop.
- The Minecraft Dungeons 2 Planner is where you can theorycraft, select different weapon/armor combinations, change your enchantments, or see what your items can roll without spending 100 Echo Shards.
- Last up, our Community Builds section has public builds from both Maxroll creators and members of the Minecraft Dungeons 2 community.
- If you make something cool with the planner, remember to set the build to public so you can share it with the community!
New Planners and Saving

- Start making builds by opening our Minecraft Dungeons 2 Planner
- You begin with an empty planner (New Profile)
- The top menu has a few options:
- Edit lets you change the planner whereas View shows you what it looks like to the user.
- Settings allows you to change language and show or hide the quick view bar.
- My Profiles (access the profile manager)
- New Profile (delete all progress in this profile)
- Public Profile (share your build with the community, make sure you have items, notes, etc before doing this)
- Save & Notify (saves your current planner and notifies anyone following it of the update) - This requires you to set your planner to public
- Save (saves your current planner)
- Public Profile (share your build with the community, make sure you have items, notes, etc before doing this)
- Set your author information at the top including a display name and links to any relevant socials.
Profile Manager

- The Profile manager shows all of your profiles.
- On the left, you can rename your current profile:
- Give it a name that's simple and stands out.
- For example, "Tumbleshot Close Ranger" for a build that uses Tumbleshot to trigger the The Close Ranger for damage.
- You can also organize your profiles into different folders.
- On the right you see all of your profiles, you can rename, duplicate, and delete profiles.
- Show All shows profiles regardless of folder.
- The New Profile button lets you create a new profile.
Adding Items

- You can add:
- Melee weapon
- Ranged weapon
- Helmet
- Chest
- Legging
- Boots
- 3 artifacts
- 3 talismans
- Click or tap on any of the slots to begin selecting an item.

- Here you see all of the items available for that slot.
- If you see what you want, select it to begin item customization.
- You can also filter by Unique Only, or Archetype (which determines the effects an item can roll).
- Or if you know what you want but don't see it immediately, use the search bar.
You can also use our planner (or browse our database) to learn more about what's possible. There might be a unique item with a great damage bonus for your build which you didn't drop yet so hadn't considered. Take a look around!
Customizing Items

- After selecting your desired item you can begin adjusting the properties.
- First up, change the Item Power. This defaults to 150 but you can lower it if you're not max level, or raise it if you want to show off a fancy 153 power drop.
- Then, set your enchantment and select the appropriate enchantment level.
- Once you're happy with the item power and enchantment, add the effects:
- Common items do not have any effects.
- Rare items have 1.
- Special items have 2 (or 3 if they drop from a Soulstorm)
- Unique items have 1 effect which you cannot change and 1 (or 2) which you can.
- Select the level I, II, or III for each.
- With the item finished, hit OK to add the item to your planner and move on to the next.
- You can always re-open the item to edit it.
- Change item lets you add something new.
- Unequip removes the item from your paperdoll but keeps all the data saved.
- Delete removes the item from your planner, you would need to remake it to re-add it.
- If you're using an item in multiple variants, you can copy the item to modify it for one variant while leaving the others unchanged.
- Unlike making builds directly in the game, it doesn't cost any emeralds or echo shards to play around on our planner!
Making Variants

- Go to Add/Edit Variants.
- Add Variant adds a new empty variant for you to fill out.
- Duplicate Variant clones the selected set, this is good when you want to make smaller adjustments such as showcasing 2 effect vs 3 effect items.
- If you don't want one of your variants, you can delete it.
- Use Variants to show off different stages of your build. This could be an example of progression, starting in the early game with a couple of guaranteed Uniques plus Special items. Alternatively, you can showcase a high damage version, a tanky version, or a magic find setup.
Other Elements

- After filling out all of your items, enchantments and effects there are a few more things you can add.
- Pros/Cons lets you show off where your build excels while informing people of its weaknesses.
- Try to keep these balanced.
- If you have 3 pros, add 2-4 cons.
- Notes is for additional information. For example mentioning that it's helpful to grab extra damage reduction early, or mentioning that you want to swap an item out or change your playstyle on a certain boss.
- You can embed items here by typing @ then the item name so @Pride brings up a menu and searches for Pride of the Plains as an example.
- Summary lets you wrap everything up in a concise manner.
- Frequently Asked Question has collapsible containers for you to use.
- For example, if your build is reliant on a certain buff, talk about how to generate souls or add duration to maintain it.
- Use the changelog to track edits to your build over time.
Public Build and Showcase

- Last but not least, make your build public. When you do it gets published to Community Builds so you can share it with everyone!
- This is another opportunity to give your build a title.
- Select playstyle: Melee or ranged.
- Then, set a build showcase, this is 6 items or enchantments that show off what your build is best at, you can pick from:
- Weapons
- Armor
- Artifacts
- Talismans
- Enchantments
- Click or tap to add 6, then drag to re-order until your happy.
- Use the preview to see what your build will look like once it goes public.
