I’m really pleased to see Ynput | Creators of AYON reach this point. We’ve now achieved compliance with SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001 and GDPR. Anyone who’s been through this process will know how much work it takes, and how meticulous you have to be to get there. I speak with customers every day, and this gives them the reassurance they need from a platform that sits so close to their production. Animation and VFX studios are handling unreleased work, client material and sensitive production information every day. They quite rightly hold the tools they rely on to a high standard, and as AYON grows, we need to keep meeting that standard too. Security has always been part of how AYON is built. A huge amount of work goes into areas customers may never see day to day, but which matter enormously when you’re trusting a platform with production data and access to your studio environment. All booked up? 👀 AYON Planner can now show not just what someone is booked to do, but whether they actually have the time to do it. With new Capacity and Workload tracking, production teams can: • Set real working capacity by day, hour or longer periods • Compare booked work against available time • Spot under- and over-allocation at a glance • Account for part-time schedules, freelancers and time off • See when a perfectly reasonable-looking schedule is quietly asking someone to do 10 hours of work in an 8-hour day For Producers, Heads of Production, Resource Managers and Coordinators, this adds an important missing layer to planning. You can now see when a schedule starts to wobble before it turns into a resourcing problem. ⚡Powerpack 1.6.0 is out for AYON Pro and Studio subscriptions. This release adds Column Summaries, giving teams a quick way to read the table they’re already working in. Count folders, tasks, products or versions, check status breakdowns, calculate averages, and spot missing values such as unassigned shots. It also adds automated status updates, so folders, tasks and versions can stay in sync based on predefined triggers, plus Project Setting Pinning to keep selected project settings stable from the moment a project is created. Some production trackers are very good at making chaos look organised. But if artists still need Slack, shared folders and memory to find the right version, and the apps they work in aren’t tied to versioning, publishing and predictable file paths, you don’t really have a production system. You have extra admin in a system that still isn’t doing the job you need it to do. This is where the AYON comparison with ftrack, Kitsu and Flow Production Tracking often gets misunderstood. Tracking tasks and running a pipeline are not the same job. The mistake is treating a tracker that records intent as if it were a pipeline that carries the work. Announced during Annecy MIFA week, this initiative is designed to help schools, colleges and universities teach the production workflows behind animation, VFX and games. Students can learn how real productions are planned, tracked, published, versioned and reviewed in one connected platform. Educational institutions can run AYON Studio on-premise at no licence cost.
