Retail works better when the businesses behind it work together. Last week in Milan, we hosted an exclusive event, "Sell with SumUp. Pay with SumUp", bringing together retailers and industry partners to talk about how retail is changing and what that means for small businesses. For small businesses, retail is becoming more connected. Payments, checkout, hardware and software increasingly need to work together in a way that feels simple. That’s where our conversations with retail partners matter. They help us understand what merchants need at the point of sale and how solutions like Tap to Pay and SumUp Register can fit more naturally into how they run their businesses. For our merchants, that means simpler tools, smoother day-to-day operations and more time to focus on their business. SumUp's mission remains the same, to help start, manage, and grow a businesses, but today we aim for more: to better connect merchants, retail partners, and consumers, creating a more accessible and relevant ecosystem. #SumUp #Retail #Fintech

How did SumUp grow from a simple card reader into a global fintech company used by millions of merchants? Our co-founder Marc-Alexander Christ spoke with Forbes Austria about that journey and the idea at the heart of SumUp: making payments and financial tools accessible to businesses of every size. The conversation covers the early product and certification challenges, the shift towards digital payments in markets where cash is still deeply rooted, and what comes next. Becoming the world’s leading merchant bank means going beyond payments to support businesses across the full financial journey, from accepting payments to managing cash flow, accessing credit and running day-to-day operations. Football isn’t just what happens on the pitch. It’s the pub before kick-off, already packed and noisy. The café debate about who should start. Old Trafford on matchday. That’s why we’re proud to be Manchester United's Official Sleeve Partner! For us, it’s about being part of the community around the club. You’ll see the SumUp logo on the sleeve of the men’s, women’s and academy playing shirts. But we don’t want to stop there. We want to be part of the moments that make supporting United what it is – bringing fans and communities together. So here’s to celebrating together — in the stands, in the pub, or wherever you’re watching from. ⚽ Read more about the partnership https://lnkd.in/ebdq3mNy

400 graduates. More than 75% are moving into jobs in tech 🎓 Since 2022, SumUp and Generation have worked together to widen access to tech education for young people from underrepresented communities across Latin America. This year, another 65 people graduated from our programmes in Brazil and Chile after completing three months of intensive Java Full Stack training. Alongside practical technical skills, participants received support to help them take their next steps towards a career in tech. That brings the total to 400 graduates across five years of collaboration, with more than 75% securing jobs in the tech industry. Behind those numbers are people building new skills, starting new careers and creating more opportunities for themselves. We believe access to education can play an important role in social mobility, financial independence and inclusion, which is why partnerships like this matter to us. Congratulations to our 2026 graduates, and thank you to Generation Brasil and Generation Chile for continuing this work with us 🎉 #InsideSumUp #SumUp #SocialResponsibility #Education #Engineering

The Coffee started as a 3-square-metre kiosk in Curitiba, Brazil, blending Brazilian coffee craft with Japanese design precision. Today it’s a global café brand, and every detail, from the beans to the store layout, is built in-house with an obsessive eye for consistency. Now, their payments had to match that standard ☕️ With SumUp Solo connected directly through our Software Development Kit, The Coffee now runs the same checkout experience everywhere they open: an average 5-second transaction, new stores onboarded in under 24 hours, and real-time reconciliation with no manual work behind the scenes. Luke Griffiths, SumUp’s Chief Commercial Officer and UK CEO, has published a letter in the Financial Times on the proposed changes to zero-hours contracts. We work with thousands of independent merchants across the UK, and see first-hand the realities they face: fluctuating demand, rising operating costs and increasingly squeezed margins. For many SMEs, the flexibility to adapt shift patterns week to week is essential to running their businesses. As these reforms are considered, it’s important that policymakers hear directly about the challenges small businesses face — and avoid adding unnecessary cost and complexity at a time when many are already under pressure. We’re proud to use our position to speak up for the merchants who keep local communities and the UK economy moving. In 2019, the Give A Little platform enabled its first contactless donation using a SumUp card reader 🚀 At the time, going cashless was still out of reach for many charities due to high setup costs. Give A Little, the cashless donations platform designed by Caution Your Blast Ltd, helped change that. Together with SumUp’s affordable card readers, it gave charities a simpler way to accept donations online and in person. What started with a single tap has now helped raise an incredible £100 million. Since then, the Give A Little community has grown steadily, supporting more than 11,800 organisations across the UK, from major charities and institutions such as London Zoo, Oxfam, Cancer Research UK and the Church of England, to local causes like Romsey Cancer Support. The journey so far: 2022: £1 million raised 2025: £50 million raised 2026: £100 million raised This milestone belongs to the charities, donors, partners and teams who made contactless giving simpler, more accessible and more useful in the real world. Seven years in, it’s a reminder of what innovative technology can do when it’s built around people’s everyday needs. #SumUp #InsideSumUp #Community #DigitalPayments

🇧🇬 Nikolay Ivanov is a Compliance Operations Team Lead in our Operations team, based in the SumUp Sofia office. Nikolay and his team work across the operational side of compliance, including transaction monitoring, law enforcement requests, insolvency cases and money claims. Beyond his day-to-day role, Niko is also one of our local ambassadors for Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability in Sofia. “As part of the Compliance Operations team, we work in a space that is detailed, dynamic and essential to keeping our fintech ecosystem running smoothly. We truly live SumUp’s ‘Team First’ value. The environment can be complex, but rather than simply responding to challenges, we work together to build stronger and more effective solutions. Some of the areas we manage today were built from the ground up. We’ve developed procedures and frameworks that help us work with clarity and consistency across a complex fintech and banking environment. Seeing what we can achieve together is genuinely rewarding. My role gives me the opportunity to contribute beyond my core responsibilities, collaborate with different teams, and bring my passion for Diversity and Inclusion into our Sofia office. That variety allows me to keep learning, broaden my perspective and support initiatives that matter to me. What also makes a real difference is feeling supported. Mental wellness services and additional annual leave are not just benefits on paper. They help me maintain a sustainable balance between my personal and professional life. Combined with the trust and autonomy we’re given, they create an environment where people can do their best work and feel genuinely supported.” #WeAreSumUp #InsideSumUp #Fintech #Sofia
