Removed Comment It doesn't break rule 1. That's just how .ml moderation is, you're not allowed to criticize China and you're especially not allowed to defend the US, no matter how tangentially. If I had to get into their rationalization, I'd guess they probably justify it to themselves as a form of xenophobia, which is included in rule 1. Any criticism of China is presumed to be caused by some sort of cultural/historical/factual misunderstanding, at least when the critic has not already demonstrated fealty to the overarching presumptions of their worldview. They are slightly more tolerant of criticism of China when it's coming from one of their own, because they know that the critical argument will not overflow and threaten the foundations of their model of reality. They don't list it as an official rule because it would cause cognitive dissonance. They want to keep believing that they are open to honest debate and intellectual exchange, because otherwise they would be uncomfortably close to the realization that they have created an echo chamber full of thought-terminating cliches that prevents them from reckoning with the actual complexity of the world today. So it's necessary for them to remove comments that expose the reductionism and naivety inherent to their worldview, without explicitly acknowledging that it is a policy. That was quality content though, thank you for your contributions. Just understand that .ml is a cultish environment where freedom of speech and freedom of thought are not particularly valued. Most other instances wouldn't have any problem with such content, so just don't waste your time trying to post it on .ml, because they don't want to hear it. It's like talking to super religious people about the fact that God might not exist. You're highly unlikely to make any headway, because they've been chugging the Kool aid so long that their identity has become tied to this overly simplistic understanding of civilization and geopolitics where capitalism and Western culture is the root of all evil, and communism is the only possible solution. When you challenge that premise, they take it as a personal attack, and their rational brain shuts down as a result of their strong emotional reaction to what they perceive as a personal insult. The idea that the US is pure evil and that humanity could be "saved" by "defeating" it (and by extension capitalism) isn't just an abstract theory to them, it's a core piece of their identity and they rely on it for emotional stability. by imaqtpie@sh.itjust.works

Removed Comment Best to block all Lemmy.ml communities, as it is full of tankies, including the mods. This specific one has mods who let reported tankie disinformation in form of both comments & threads stay, as well as insults towards other users by the same individuals. I tried reporting rule breaking comments & threads for a few weeks, monitored if they'd do anything, but nothing happened and the same users continued doing the same spiel in other threads. If Lemmy.ml isn't distancing itself from Lemmygrad and Hexbear and does enforce their rules selectively, then there's no reason to treat them the same as those other extremist communities. by DarkThoughts@kbin.social

Removed Comment This seems straightforward. You posted your opinion (which is inherently true - no one but you has access to your inner mind, so we *must* take it on faith you are honestly presenting your opinion to us) and the mod misrepresented this as fact so it could be labeled as misinfo. But I doubt posting *here* will fix that. Mostly what you seem to have managed is to attract genocide supporters from Hexbear to troll you. As I understand it, the best way you can handle this on Lemmy is to simply find similar threads on a different instance to engage in discourse in. by quindraco@lemm.ee

Removed Comment because it is at best a crank conspiracy theory. [and yes you should do it] and yes bombing hospitals does make sense, Israel has done it in the past. In fact, the same hospital was 'warning' bombed just 2 days ago https://twitter.com/AVHospital/status/1713543149774160099 https://avh.org/content/news-and-events/gaza-hospital-hit-by-israeli-rockets-urgent-evacuation-ordered.html October 15th: >Yesterday, at 7:00 PM, Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, which is our partner in the Diagnostic Cancer Treatment Center, was hit by two Israeli rockets. Fortunately, the extent of the damage was limited. >Today, the hospital has received orders from Israeli authorities to evacuate the facility, including patients, staff, and 3,000 Gazan people who have sought shelter within the hospital's premises. >We call the international community and all humanitarian organizations to take action to prevent the evacuation orders for Al Ahli Arab Hospital and the other 22 hospital, as this action poses a significant risk to the lives of numerous patients. here is a 2014 article regarding Israel bombing hospitals https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2014/07/israelgaza-attacks-medical-facilities-and-civilians-add-war-crime-allegations/ >The third floor of the Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir al-Balah was struck by Israeli shelling, killing four people and wounding dozens, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health spokesperson. >“Today’s attack on the Al-Aqsa hospital is the latest in a series of attacks on and near medical facilities in Gaza, which have been struggling to cope with thousands of injured people since the Israeli offensive began on 8 July,” said Philip Luther, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Programme at Amnesty International. by FuckyWucky [none/use name]@hexbear.net
