## WHY YOU’LL LOVE DRAFTS ##
CAPTURE EVERYWHERE:
Drafts opens to a new page with the keyboard ready — just waiting for your words. Alternatively, go hands-free with dictation.
Drafts helps you write ideas down before you can forget them so and they’ll always be there, ready and waiting. Capture on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, and Drafts’ fast sync will make your text available everywhere.
USE YOUR WORDS:
Drafts is a jumping-off point for text — use actions to copy it, share it, or deep-link into other apps and services. Compose a tweet, draft a message, create a file in Dropbox, send a task off to Reminders – Drafts works with tons of your favorite apps and services.
REMEMBER IT NOW – OR LATER:
New entries go into the Inbox. Once there, you can Tag them for organization, Flag them for importance, or Archive them for long-term storage.
TAKE TEXT TO A NEW LEVEL:
Customize Drafts to look and work the way you want with tons of interface adjustments — custom fonts and control over spacing, line height, and margins.
Use the customizable buttons above the keyboard to convert, manipulate, and transform your writing quickly.

Editors’ Choice
No matter where text will eventually end up, start it in Drafts. This powerful but nimble app offers a slew of features for editing, organizing, and sharing text—whether with people, to social networks, or to other apps—that make it so much more than just a notes app.
You'll be glad you invested the time to incorporate
skiiver
Took me a bit, and a few false starts on iOS to get this into my workflow. To be honest, it wasn't that much extra to work to, say, open Messages and type a message there. But that's not where the efficiency of Drafts is, it's not "just" a launcher. But because it's so much more, it takes more time to incorporate it into your personal workflow. It reminds me of a password manager in that respect, where the utility is obvious but the scope and scale of the functionality isn't entirely obvioius until you're a mile down the implementation pathway. (And then it's indespensible and is one of the first things you install on a new device, and feel crippled when you're on a borrowed device without it). So my advice would be (like with 1Password) to start small. Don't try to replace all your text-functionality at once. Start with just work email, or just personal email, or even just with your markdown journaling or todo lists. A single functionality, and then let that grow (e.g. using with work emails and then realizing how many times you copy/paste components from one email into other emails, or into task managers, kanbans, ticket systems, etc). And don't overload yourself with panes of actions. If you can think of it, Drafts *can* do it; but you won't remember where you put it or even if you put it into a pane. Build your panes of actions along with an immediate need, not a functionality that you have used in the past on-and-off. Good luck! And huge thanks to Greg Pierce for all the work on this.
Surprisingly useful app that handles syncing on apple devices well.
bear wearing a bow
TLDR: I’ve turned it into a personal knowledge base for everything written. Long-form writing, journaling, D&D, organizing references and info. I use it constantly and use it across the Apple ecosystem.I’ve tested with multiple devices open at once and it appears to synchronize reliably. My main use case is jotting down notes on the go, then opening my laptop to edit it later. I haven’t had any problems with that. Mind you, sync conflicts are possible, but you would have to push it. I don’t think it’s designed to let you edit the same document at once from multiple devices.I was skeptical about a couple things. It’s not a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor so I’ve been forcing myself to get in the habit of double spacing and using markdown. I use Vellum for arranging manuscripts and an easier transition between the two programs would make my life a little easier, but I’m making it work.I was worried it would bug me to have no automatic indexing, or that everything I made would get lost, but creating a “Table of Contents” and leaving it in a central place solves that. My personal habit is: every new document gets a link in the TOC. My TOC stays in the Inbox, with a flag, and always visible. This keeps it 1 click away no matter what I’m working on.You can also use workspaces, tags, the different inboxes, or you can just search for your document. I’ve experimented with those a little but my preference is the TOC.I can’t explain why this works more than other apps I’ve tried, but it just does. I have a far easier time organizing with this than I do, say, my Outlook mailbox.
Really really like the app, but I want math support
_dna_>
I use this app for a dual purpose. If I need to take a quick note it is faster and easier to open the app and immediately have a blank slate to type on. The lightweight UI is great for quick note-taking in cass. Much better than one note (i dont like one note), I can’t write fast enough to take notes in GoodNotes, and making a word document every time is a bit distracting. It is easier to quickly tag a note than moving plain text files to folders on my Mac.Howeverrrrrrrr… I would really appreciate LaTeX typesetting for equations. No buttons to create summation notation or integral signs etc. That type of thing is not helpful. It is a lot easier to type \( \vec{M} = \frac{1}{V} \Sigma \vec{\mu}_i \) than clicking a bunch of buttons and wasting time. I would LOVE to have this feature. And, this is stepping out of the range of the app’s nature, character, intentions, idk but to Cmd+V images into the document would be awesome. The cloud syncing is really fast. Love that. So far my favorite note-taking app.
Ready for the latest systems, Chat Console, dictation improvements, autonumbered lists
