Xbox Disc-to-Digital Feature Reportedly Does Not Support Several Ubisoft, SEGA, and Square Enix Titles, Community Claims

Xbox's Disc-to-Digital Program does not seem to support several Square Enix, SEGA, and Ubisoft titles, as spotted by the community.

According to the Xbox community on Reddit, several titles, including Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Watch Dogs Legion, are currently not supported. Reddit users have also pointed out -- via a community-made website that tracks supported games -- that several Forza titles, including Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Horizon 4, are not supported either.

At the time of writing, Xbox has not provided any official statement regarding the matter.

Ubisoft Opting out of Disc to Digital is Very Disappointing (But Not Surprising)

Users reacted to the news with mixed opinions, with some expressing disappointment. One user stated, “Sega missing a bigger disappointment. I expect better from them.” Another user said, “This is how it should be, buy a license for the game not a license that limits your use to one platform. Next step is making the license non-revocable…” Meanwhile, another user pointed out, “I mean, to be fair, Ubisoft, Sega, Square or any other publisher aren't obligated to hand out digital copies of their games just because MS introduced disk to digital.”

For those unaware, Xbox’s Disc-to-Digital is a feature that allows users to add their physical games to their digital library. This means players can convert their physical game copies into digital versions and use them on supported devices, including PCs, handhelds, and possibly the upcoming Project Helix next-gen PC/console hybrid.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has revealed the Game Pass September 2026 Wave 1 lineup, which includes games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed, and several other titles.
