Project Helix: Xbox VP Clears Rumours About Third-Party Versions of Its Upcoming Next-Gen Console
The upcoming console will reportedly be priced between $800 and $1,200.
Xbox’s vice president has addressed rumours surrounding Microsoft’s upcoming next-generation console (Project Helix), clarifying that it is a first-party console and not a third-party console.
Xbox vice president Jason Ronald took to X to clear the rumours, stating, “Project Helix will be available as a 1st party Xbox console.” The confusion primarily arose from a previous statement by leaker KeplerL2 regarding Project Helix, in which he said, “It won't be sold directly to consumers, but you will be able to buy an ASUS/MSI/etc Helix machine.”

Users on X reacted to the news with mixed responses, with some raising questions about broader availability. One user asked, “But will the Helix chip be available to other hardware manufacturers also?” while another user commented, “So it will be “available” as a first party box, but not exclusive got it”.
For those who don’t know, Project Helix is Microsoft’s upcoming next-generation console, which will run both PC and Xbox games. Based on previous reports, the console will be reportedly powered by AMD’s Magnus APU that reportedly features 68 RDNA 5 compute units, a Zen 6-based architecture with 11 CPU cores, and 48GB of GDDR7 RAM. The console is rumoured to be priced between $800 and $1,200.
In other news, Xbox has also reduced the price of its Ultimate Gaming subscription tier, which is now available at ₹1,089 per month.
