Gears of War: E-Day — Xbox Is Reportedly Preparing a Limited Edition Controller
No renders have been revealed as of now.
It looks like Microsoft’s gaming division, Xbox, is reportedly preparing an upcoming limited-edition Gears of War: E-Day controller, as highlighted by a report.
According to Dealabs, Xbox is reportedly set to release a limited-edition Gears of War: E-Day controller called Storm King. The controller will feature a dark design with cracked black and red textures, a red D-pad, and a Gears of War logo showcasing the iconic skull and cog design in red. Further, as of now, no additional details have been revealed. However, the report suggests that an announcement regarding the controller is expected within the next two weeks.
Following the report, Reddit users shared their excitement for the potential limited-edition controller. A user commented, “Xbox makes some of the best limited edition controllers,” while another compared it with the DualSense, saying, “As much as I adore the DualSense controller, my biggest gripe with it is how limited it gets visually and it makes me wish they had a fraction of the creativity that the people who make Xbox controllers have.”
For those unfamiliar, The Coalition’s Gears of War: E-Day is an upcoming third-person shooter set fourteen years before the original Gears of War, where players take on the roles of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago during Emergence Day, the first major Locust invasion of Sera. The game is scheduled to release on October 6, 2026, and will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam), with prices starting at ₹5,499.
In other news, Sony has also revealed the limited-edition PlayStation DualSense Wireless Controller – Icon Blue Special Edition, featuring PlayStation’s iconic blue and navy colour scheme, along with a touchpad showcasing a glossy PlayStation-shaped pattern.
