Esports Nations Cup Delayed to November 2027 Months Before It Was Set To Be Conducted

The Esports Foundation (EF) has announced that the Esports Nations Cup (ENC), originally scheduled for November 2026, has been postponed to November 2027.

“Given ENC’s unprecedented international scale and the uncertainty created by the wider regional situation, EF believes moving the inaugural competition to November 2027 is the responsible decision to provide the certainty and stability that National Teams, publishers, partners and fans expect,” EF shared.

ENC was scheduled to be held from November 2-29 with a prize pool of $20 million. The competition was set to feature 16 titles, including Apex Legends, EA Sports FC, Street Fighter 6, and more. Nodwin Gaming was appointed as India’s official national team partner for the tournament.

The Esports Foundation has said that all the existing ENC development fund commitments to national team partners will remain in place. “The ENC Development Fund and related ecosystem development programs will continue, alongside ongoing work with publishers, National Team Partners and other stakeholders,” EF shared.

The foundation will be working closely with national team partners, publishers and other stakeholders over the coming weeks to provide them with clarity over the revised competition calendar, qualification pathways and international competition.

CEO of the Esports Foundation, Raif Reichert said that the decision to postpone the tournament “was not taken lightly.” Reichert added that the response received from national team partners, players and others has shown the foundation “how much potential this competition has,” and that the EF “owe” them an ENC which is delivered under the “right conditions and at the level this idea deserves.”

Indian teams for several titles such as League of Legends, PUBG, Honor of Kings, Valorant, and more have already been revealed.
