Avengers: Doomsday Rumour Claims Sentry May Only Have His ‘Moment During the Final Battle’ Despite Being Supposed to Have a ‘Bigger Role’

Avengers: Doomsday is still almost four months away, but rumours about the upcoming Marvel movie continue to make their way online. Now, a new rumour claims that Lewis Pullman’s Sentry was previously supposed to have a “bigger role” in the film, but he will now have his main moment during the film’s final battle.

Scooper @JamesMackwl shared the claim on X, writing, “Previously, Sentry was supposed to have a bigger role, but in the current cut, Sentry only has his moment during the final battle.”

For now, the claim has not been officially confirmed, and there is no official word on how much screen time Sentry will have. So, fans should take this as a rumour for now. However, the report has already received a mixed response online. One fan wrote, “Sidelined for nostalgia slop,” while another said, “This is so annoying! Bob is one of the most interesting characters since Endgame... It’s so sad, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave his minutes to Steve.” Another fan, however, remained hopeful, writing, “He’s one of the better new MCU heroes and has huge potential. Maybe he’ll have a bigger part in Secret Wars?”

Pullman will reprise his role as Sentry, also known as Robert “Bob” Reynolds, following his appearance in Thunderbolts last year. His return was confirmed during Marvel’s lengthy livestream, which revealed 26 actors set to appear in the superhero movie. The film will also bring back Robert Downey Jr., this time as Doctor Doom, along with stars including Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston and more.

The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and follows “beloved heroes from three distinct universes as they’re set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.” Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to release in cinemas on December 18, 2026. It will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, which is set to release on December 17, 2027.

As you wait for the upcoming movie, you can check out the new Avengers: Doomsday trailer shown at D23. You can also check out a 15 movie and TV show watchlist to finish before Avengers: Doomsday. Also, fan interest in Avengers: Doomsday has also been strong, with the film reportedly crossed $35 million in pre-sales nearly four months before its release.
