Dr. Johnstone Ndunde

Dr. Johnstone Ndunde
Executive Director
Dr. Johnstone Ndunde became SIL Global’s Executive Director in May 2025. He brings 20 years of experience in leadership, Bible translation, literacy, and language development across Africa, having served with SIL Global and before that Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL) in Kenya. His work has been rooted in advancing educational and spiritual opportunities within African language communities so individuals and communities can flourish
In previous roles, Dr. Ndunde guided programs developing initiatives and instructional materials in schools and adult education in a number of countries in Africa. As Director of Strategy and then Area Director for SIL Anglo-Lusophone Africa, he fostered collaboration with key partners and church communities, expanded regional and global funding capabilities, and implemented initiatives to develop emerging leaders.
Dr. Ndunde holds a Ph.D. in Leadership and Governance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, an MA in Educational Studies from Africa International University, and a B.Ed. in Commerce and Economics from the University of Nairobi. Fluent in English and Kiswahili, and a native speaker of Lunyole and a number of Luhyia languages, he brings valuable cultural insight and linguistic skills to his work.
Dr. Ndunde lives in Nairobi, Kenya, with his wife, Esther.

Ian Hollman

Ian Hollman
Associate Executive Director for Programs
Ian is the Associate Executive Director for Programs and a citizen of the United Kingdom. He holds an MBA, a Certificate in Business and Finance, and a BS in Mathematics. Over the years, Ian has served in several leadership roles within SIL, including Area Director for Anglophone West Africa, Director of Language Programs Services for Anglophone Africa, Director of SIL Nigeria, SIL Sudan Branch Director of Services, and most recently as Associate Executive Director for International Language Services.
Ian is passionate about speaking and advocating on behalf of the overlooked and underprivileged, aligning closely with SIL’s vision to see communities flourishing—especially those that are most marginalized. While not a specialist in any technical language domain, his gifting as an administrator and leader allows him to enable others to thrive across a variety of technical disciplines. He finds great satisfaction in helping others succeed in their roles.
Ian lives in the UK with his wife. They have four children. In his free time, he enjoys cricket, making things, and hiking and exploring.

Christy Liner

Christy Liner
Associate Executive Director for Central Services
Christy is the Associate Executive Director for Central Services and a citizen of the United States. She holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, an MBA from Tarleton State University, and a Doctorate in Leadership in Global Perspectives from Portland Seminary. Since joining SIL in 2020, she has served in leadership roles including Program Director of ProgressBible, Director of Partnerships, and Associate Executive Director for Global Resourcing.
Christy is passionate about SIL’s holistic approach to flourishing and loves using her leadership and financial background to help build strong systems that support the organization’s mission. She enjoys creative problem-solving and is committed to stewarding resources that empower SIL’s global community to say “yes” to the opportunities God provides.
Christy resides in Austin, Texas, USA, with her husband and three teenage children. In her free time, she enjoys spin classes and playing board games with family and friends.

Dr. Marie South

Dr. Marie South
Director of the Executive Director’s Office
Dr. Marie South is the Director of the Executive Director Office and a citizen of the United Kingdom. She brings decades of experience in leadership, research, and organizational support to her role. On rejoining SIL in 2016, Marie led the Professional Development team in SIL Eurasia, where she later became Associate to the Area Director. She most recently served as Associate to the Associate Executive Director for the Central West Zone and Chief of Staff.
Dr. South’s long history with SIL began more than 30 years ago as a Short-Term Assistant with Wycliffe UK. She went on to coordinate a bilingualism testing project in Cameroon and contributed to machine learning research through SIL’s Academic Computing Department while completing her PhD in Statistics at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Before returning to SIL full time, Marie pursued a successful career in industry as a statistician, while also serving as a guest lecturer and external consultant to SIL on research methodology and statistics.
Dr. South is motivated by helping others thrive and finds joy in bringing structure and support to those she serves. She lives in Ware, UK.

Jason Griffiths

Jason Griffiths
Area Director, AsiaPacific
Jason Griffiths serves as the Area Director for AsiaPacific, providing oversight and strategic support for SIL’s engagements in the Asia-Pacific region. Jason brings almost two decades of leadership experience with SIL, having previously served as Area Director for the Pacific, Director of SIL Philippines and team leader roles within the Philippines.
Jason is passionate about energising partnerships to see greater impact for good. This has led him to be part of developing collaborations involving key partners and church leaders to connect and explore how to work together with the goal of seeing communities flourish using their languages. As part of Jason’s first language assignment with SIL he researched oral traditions and the art of storytelling and this instilled a deep appreciation for the unique perspective that everyone brings and the beauty of co-creation that he is still passionate about today.
Jason is a PhD candidate with the University of Queensland Business School, researching collaborative leadership decision-making. Jason holds a Masters in transformational leadership and a Bachelor’s degree in intercultural studies.
Jason is from Australia, where he lives with his wife, Karen. To decompress, Jason enjoys running and ocean sports.

Justin Hettinga
Area Director, Americas
Justin Hettinga serves as the Americas Area Director for SIL Global, overseeing SIL’s field work across the region. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Justin is committed to building teams of servant leaders who listen well to stakeholders while actively seeking God’s direction.
He began his journey with SIL in 2000 as a literacy worker in Peru, serving Quechua-speaking churches and communities. He holds an MA in NGO Leadership from Trinity Western University, where his research explored adapting performance measurement tools for oral culture-based community organizations.
Justin and his wife Tammy have two married sons and three grandchildren, all living in Calgary. They are deeply rooted in a vibrant local church community and cherish opportunities to engage in ministry together. Outside of work, they love spending time outdoors—biking, canoeing, skiing, or hiking.

Uche Nweke

Uche Nweke
Area Director, Africa
Uche Nweke serves as the Area Director for Africa, providing oversight and strategic support for SIL’s engagements in Africa. His leadership is shaped by servant leadership, prayerful discernment, and a commitment to stewarding people and resources faithfully for God’s mission. Uche started his service with SIL in Nigeria. Most recently, he served as the Strategy Director for Anglo-Lusophone Africa Area.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in Intercultural Studies at Biola University, with research interests in leadership, multicultural teams, and organizational culture. Uche holds an MBA, an MSc in Information Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Uche holds dual citizenship in Nigeria and Canada. Uche enjoys going up and down the stairways (a few hundred steps) that connect the upper and lower parts of the city of Hamilton where he lives with his wife, Rachel and their three daughters.

Alexander Maxberg

Alexander Maxberg
Area Director, EurAsia
Alexander Maxberg serves as the Area Director for EurAsia, providing oversight and strategic support for SIL’s engagements across Europe and Asia.
With a background in linguistics, engineering and leadership, Alexander and his wife Nailya served for seven years with SIL in South Asia. Their shared passion for language development, community engagement, and leadership development continues to shape their work today. Later, Alexander led Wycliffe Bible Translators Russia for 6 years as their Executive Director.
Alexander is particularly passionate about forming strong, aligned teams and creating space for emerging leaders to thrive. He is committed to fostering cross-domain collaboration, strengthening internal communication, and clarifying direction in complex systems. He seeks to lead with curiosity, clarity, and a deep belief in the power of co-creation – team building.
Originally from Estonia, Alexander lives in Finland with his wife Nailya and their two children. Outside of work, he enjoys meaningful conversations, time with his family, morning walk with Nailya and a good cup of coffee—ideally in a sauna!

Yuki Yamada

Yuki Yamada
Area Director, Global Sign Languages
Yuki serves as Area Director for the Global Sign Languages Team at SIL Global. In this role, he provides oversight, direction, and support for SIL’s sign language initiatives around the world, fostering cross-cultural partnerships that empower both Deaf and Hearing communities.
Yuki is deeply committed to ensuring that Deaf individuals from diverse backgrounds are equipped with the resources they need to engage actively in ministry. His leadership emphasises inclusivity, empowerment, and the development of sustainable systems that support language communities in both local and global contexts.
As a certified Translation Consultant, Yuki has served sign language translation projects mostly in Asia. Before taking on his current role, he served as the Asia-Pacific Regional Director for the Global Sign Languages Team and as Translation Coordinator. These roles have shaped his collaborative, community-centred approach to leadership and language development.
He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. Yuki, his wife, and their three sons live on a small, beautiful island in Hong Kong, where walking is the primary mode of transportation.

Nelis van den Berg

Nelis van den Berg
Director, Growth Initiatives
Nelis van den Berg serves as the Director of Change Management Support, where he supports and facilitates significant change processes throughout the organization. Nelis brings not only executive level experience to this role, but also a passion for the human aspects of change management and a desire to bring the experience and knowledge of all stakeholders to the table, resulting in buy-in and clear results.
Nelis joined SIL with an MA in Educational Psychology. He joined SIL in 1995 and started work as a literacy specialist among the Makaa people, who live in the East of Cameroon. After 2001 he served in a number of leadership roles in SIL Cameroon and Africa, including Cameroon Training Director, Language Programs Director, Branch Director and Area Director. From 2016 until 2025 he served as Associate Executive Director and Chief of Staff.
Nelis lives in the Netherlands with his wife, close to his three adult children, their spouses and grandchild. He runs, plays board games and seeks to be active in the church and the community where he lives.

Jackie Buhler
Director of People, Community & Culture
Jackie Buhler serves as the Director for People, Community and Culture, where she and her team provide strategic leadership for HR and spiritual life. She and her husband live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
She is passionate about seeing people flourish in their work and personal lives, as well as helping individuals find their best fit. She is also committed to seeing SIL thrive as an organization.
She has served in HR and administrative leadership roles for a number of years, both in SIL and in Wycliffe Canada. She has also served as Board Chair for the Mobile Member Care Team, and as a leadership partner/mentor with the Arrow Leadership Program. She currently serves on the leadership team of her local church.

Greg Dekker

Greg Dekker
Director of Strategic Language Applications
Greg Dekker serves as Director of Strategic Language Applications, overseeing SIL’s Language Technology, AI Capabilities, Global Publishing Services, and the Opportunity Network and Portfolio domains. Greg previously served as International Director of Translation Services, Assoc. Asia Area Director for Mainland Programs, Director of SIL Philippines and Director of SIL’s South Asia Group.
Greg is passionate about helping communities and individuals realize their full potential through language-based solutions which contribute to an abundant life socio-economically, spiritually, and environmentally.
Greg has a BA in Religious Studies from Westmont College, and an MA in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Arlington. Along with his wife, Dr Diane Dekker, and four children, Greg served 15 years in the Lubuagan, Kalinga, Philippines community working collaboratively with the community in language development, literacy and education, and translation of literature of high moral value, including Holy Scripture.
Greg is an SIL-certified Translation Consultant and has served in SIL as a certified Senior Literacy and Education Consultant. A crowning achievement of Greg and his wife, Diane was seeing Mother Tongue-Based, Multilingual Education (MTB MLE) for Grades 1-3 become national law in the Philippines in 2013 as a result of their advocacy, research, and collaboration with the Philippines Department of Education and other private sector advocates.
Greg resides with his wife, Diane in California, near their four children and 10 grandchildren. In his spare time, Greg is a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoys any opportunity to scuba dive.

Anthony Kamau

Anthony Kamau

Anthony Kamau is the Director for Global Resourcing (GRO), where he provides leadership and direction for SIL’s global efforts to mobilise people, partnerships and financial resources to advance the mission of SIL. He joined SIL in August 2020 and has served in various roles within Africa, most recently as the Director for Partnership and Resource Development.
He holds a Masters in Project Management from the University of London, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Microbiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, in addition to several other professional certifications.
Inspired by the vision in Revelation 7:9, Kamau believes that SIL’s work in Language Development has both present day impact and eternal significance which will be realized when people from every nation, tribe and languages stand before the throne of God because they have read and heard the gospel in their heart language.
Away from work, Kamau is a fan of Arsenal, enjoys his cup of tea, and is an ardent reader with a personal library of over 300 books across an array of subjects.
Kamau lives in Kikuyu, Kenya, with his wife Carol and their two children.

Chief Marketing & Communications Officer
Luke Garvey serves as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for SIL Global, where he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on brand strategy, external communications, digital engagement, donor marketing, and global storytelling. A citizen of the United States, he brings a creative, strategic, and relational approach to leadership.
Luke is passionate about helping organizations align around their core purpose and engage others through clear, creative, and strategic communication. His team leads global communication efforts that engage language communities, partners, and donors while supporting regional and local teams as they communicate effectively in their own contexts.
Before becoming CMCO, Luke served as Director of Marketing and Director of Global Communications for SIL. He began his journey with SIL in Papua New Guinea as Chief Communications Officer. Earlier in his career, he built and led a church communications program, gaining deep experience in branding, digital strategy, and creative leadership. He holds an MBA in Marketing from Regent University, an MA in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and a BS in Graphic Design from Liberty University.
Luke and his wife, Noelle, live in Dallas, TX with their two daughters.

Ruth Munguti serves as the Director for Language Solutions Portfolio (LSP) department, since April 2023, providing leadership to integrated programs to help them scale, integrate, and become sustainable as they serve the movement in support of SIL’s mission. Ruth has a background in programs management, finance and administration.
Previously, Ruth has served as an associate Director, and Programs manager for Alliance and Advocacy Building (AAB) in AL Africa Area. Her responsibility in these roles involved managing literacy projects with external partners and supporting consultants within the department, as well as doing some of the consultant work. She served as the Africa Area project funding coordinator, and Resource Development Coordinator for AL Africa Area among other responsibilities.
Ruth holds an MA in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Commerce degree – Accounting, Business Admin & Management from Daystar University, and currently pursuing her doctorate degree (DBA) in leadership from the United States International University (USIU) Africa. She also holds a diploma in Information Technology and Management.
Ruth lives in Nairobi, Kenya, with her husband and three children. She speaks fluent Kamba, Swahili, and English, and a bit of Luhya dialects.

Sheryl Nelson
Director of Global Technology & Information Systems
Sheryl Nelson serves as the Director of Global IT Services for SIL Global, where she brings over 20 years of experience in technology leadership to support the organization’s mission. She believes that technology should serve the mission—not the other way around—and she works hard to make sure the tools and systems in place truly help people do their jobs better.
What drives her most is helping others grow. She’s passionate about developing her team, mentoring staff, and creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to keep learning. For her, seeing someone gain confidence in a new skill or step into a leadership role is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
She’s spent her career helping nonprofits use technology more effectively—not just to improve systems, but to make life easier for the people doing the work.
Sheryl holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Arizona. She and her husband live near Atlanta, Georgia.

Chief Financial Officer
Mike Painter serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of SIL. Since joining SIL in 2003, he has held several financial roles, including 12 years in Brazil, and brings a deep understanding of nonprofit financial operations in international contexts. His goal is to equip leaders to steward financial resources effectively and align financial planning and reporting with organizational purpose.
Before joining SIL, he worked with a national public accounting firm, specializing in audit and consulting services for nonprofit organizations. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Biola University, an MBA from Hope International University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
In addition to his role at SIL, he serves on the Audit Committee of a credit union and is a member of the Board of Trustees for an educational institution, where he also chairs the Finance and Audit Committee.
He lives in Dallas with his wife. Mike is an active runner and enjoys spending time with his family, including his three adult children, often around a board game.

Silke Sauer

Silke Sauer
Director of Internal Communications
Silke Sauer serves as Director of Executive Communications at SIL Global, where she aims to facilitate two-way communication between all levels of staff and the leadership of SIL, thus contributing to efficient information flow within the organisation. Silke brings many years of experience in cross-cultural language work, communications and leadership to her role.
Silke’s journey with SIL began in 1998 as a linguist with SIL Chad, where she specialised in developing orthographies for a number of languages. After several years as communications specialist with Wycliffe Germany and editor of their magazine, she rejoined SIL in 2019, first as part of the Eurasia Area Communications team, and then as Director of Executive Communications.
Silke is committed to serving SIL staff and helping them to be well equipped for their roles through information and creating opportunities for engagement. She brings clarity, strategic thinking, and care to the teams she serves. She lives in Dillenburg, Germany, which is also her passport country.

Liz Thomson

Liz Thomson
Director of Organizational Planning & Learning
Liz Thomson serves as the Director of Organisational Planning and Learning for SIL Global, which includes the Strategic Research Office and the Pike Center for Integrative Scholarship. Liz leads a team committed to supporting SIL in being an effective, evidence-based learning organisation.
She also serves as the Director of the Language Programs Support Unit for SIL Global, guiding the development and implementation of effective language program strategies and supporting managers and practitioners to ensure strong program design and delivery.
Liz brings over two decades of experience with SIL, serving in language program management and organisational leadership roles. Her previous leadership roles include Director of SIL Uganda-Tanzania and Director of Language Program Services for Anglo-Lusophone Africa Area. She also served on the JAARS Board from 2016-2023 and as Vice Chair of the SIL Global Board from 2016-2025.
Liz holds an MSc in Food Science from Leeds University, UK and a BSc in Biochemistry from Birmingham University, UK. Before joining SIL she worked as a research scientist in the food industry. She spent a rich and fulfilling 18 years serving with SIL in Tanzania before returning to the UK where she currently lives.

Director of Language Program Services
Dr. Catherine Young serves as Director of Language Programme Services for SIL Global, where she leads 4 primary teams – Translation Services, Scripture Access Services, Language and Development Services and Language Programme Management Services. The goal of Language Programme Services is to be responsive to Areas, SCOs and partner organisations and support the delivery of high-impact service offerings that enable local language communities to flourish.
A citizen of the United Kingdom, Catherine brings over three decades of leadership experience within SIL, having previously served as International Literacy and Education Coordinator, Asia Area Literacy and Education Coordinator, Associate Director of Academic Affairs for SIL Philippines, and most recently, Director of Global Language and Development Services. Catherine has served as Board Chair of SIL LEAD from 2000.
Catherine is a Senior Literacy and Education Consultant with SIL Global and has served in literacy and education roles throughout Asia-Pacific and provided consultant services to multilateral and international agencies including the World Bank, UNESCO and Save the Children.
Catherine currently is a faculty member of Moorlands College, UK serving as a pathway leader for the MA Language, Community and Development and has supported PhD students in international University contexts. She is on the editorial Boards of a number of education and development journals.
Dr. Young holds a Ph.D. in Multilingual Education from Bangor University, Wales, an M.Ed. in Literacy from Sheffield University, UK and a B.Ed. in Applied Education from the University of Lancaster, UK. Catherine also holds postgraduate qualifications in the education of the Deaf.

Hans Combrink currently serves as Executive Director of LuminAfrica. In addition to his leadership as Chair of the SIL Global Board, he holds positions on several other boards. He earned his BA (Theology), BA Honours (Greek), BTh (Theology), and MTh (New Testament) degrees—all with Cum Laude distinction—from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, where he presently is a PhD Candidate. His previous professional experience includes serving as Vice President for Global Translation at Biblica from 2016 to 2019, and as Vice President for Training & Quality Assurance from 2019 to 2025. He is a certified SIL translation consultant and has contributed to the field through his involvement on the steering committees of the 2023 biennial SIL Bible Translation Conference and the 2023 “Quality in Translation” Symposium, hosted by the Pike Center for Integrative Scholarship and the Nida Institute. Combrink’s board service with SIL spans several years, having served from 2008 to 2012, from 2012 to 2016 as Vice Chair, and from 2020 to 2025 as Chair. He resides in Stellenbosch, South Africa, with his wife Patricia and their youngest daughter. They are the proud parents of five children.

Jessica Sinclair is an Account Executive at Salesforce, a global software company, where she sells cloud-based solutions to the Canadian federal government that modernize citizen services and drive operational and strategic impact. Her expertise includes sales, strategic planning, AI and technology, and collaborative execution. She holds a Master of Arts in History from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Crandall University. Previous roles include Director of Recruitment at Wycliffe Canada, Associate Director of Youth Engagement at WE.org, Sessional Lecturer at Crandall University, and six years on the Board of Directors at Scripture Union Canada. She lives in Toronto with her husband and two children.

Daniel Agee currently serves as Finance Director for Instituto Lingüístico de Verano and SIL México. He is also involved in organizing EMDC Español, a Latin America version. He also serves on the SIL Global Organisational Development Team. He has a B.A. in Bible and Christian Education from Wheaton College and has completed various linguistics and Bible translation courses. Past roles include helping to facilitate language development work and the translation of the New Testament into two Mazatec languages of Mexico, serving on the SIL Mexico Executive Committee and as Director of Language Programs for SIL Mexico and finally as SIL Mexico Branch Director. After over 35 years living in Oaxaca, Mexico, Dan and his wife currently live in Dallas Texas, USA.

Jaime Mauricio Castellón Saénz currently serves as Senior Pastor at Miramonte Baptist Church in San Salvador (www.ibmiramonte.org), prayer mentor at IJM, independent director on the Board of Directors of SIL Global, national coordinator of the Lausanne movement, counselor at CEF, and former president of the Evangelical Alliance of El Salvador. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Theology at Laurel University and a Master’s degree in Theological Studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has held other training related to camps, teaching children, leadership, pastoring, and expository preaching. Among his past roles, he has served as an APEN Speaker, President of the Evangelical Alliance, Board Member of International Christian Camps and APEN, Professor at Miramonte Biblical Seminary and at the Evangelical University of El Salvador, and Coordinator of FIBAM (Church Fellowship). His wife’s name is Cecilia and they have three children, Mauricio (25, newlywed), Pablo (20) and Benjamín (14).

Karen Floor currently serves as the Organisational Development Team Lead for SIL Global, as well as OD consultant for Seed Company, and Board member of LuminAfrica. She earned her M.A in Theology and Leadership at Roehampton, UK and holds a B.A and Higher Education qualification from NWU and Pretoria universities, South Africa. Past roles include Executive Committee Chair of SIL Mozambique, Principal of Rapale International School (formerly Morningstar Academy) in Mozambique, and Executive Director of Wycliffe South Africa. Karen and her husband, Sebastian, live in Cape Town, South Africa.

Angeline Foo
Board Member
Angeline Foo is a senior translation consultant with SIL Global, she also serves as the International Coordinator for Translation Research and Practice, and is on SIL’s Journal of Translation editorial board. Besides being the co-chair of the biennial Bible Translation Conference, Angie is the co-director of SIL Translation Consultant Development Workshop (Asia), the facilitator of the SIL BT Coordination team (Asia), and manager of the SIL translation consultant pool (Asia). Together with her husband, Peter, they function as field managers for Wycliffe language teams serving with the Evangelical Church of Indonesia. Angie completed her linguistics training at the South-Pacific SIL school in Melbourne, Australia, has a BA in Theology from Tabor College Adelaide, Australia, and an MA in Christian Studies from the University of the Sunderlands, USA. Past roles include being the co-director for the Indonesian translation consultant development workshop (Lokakarya Pengembangan Konsultan Penerjemahan, LPKP) and serving on the Steering Committee of the “Quality in Translation” Symposium which was organised by the Pike Center for Integrative Scholarship and the Nida Institute. Angie and Peter have spent more than 20 years in Papua, Indonesia, where they continue to reside today. It remains a place their three adult children consider home even though they are now spread around the globe.

Jeff German currently serves as Project Funding Coordinator for Mainland SE Asia Group of SIL Global and assists a local partner in Scripture engagement efforts, including coordination of a trauma healing program. He also serves as Field Coordinator for several funded language projects in the region. Jeff earned an M.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois (Urbana), and has completed additional courses in linguistics, literacy and language program management. Past roles include Director of the Mainland SE Asia Group of SIL and as coordinator of a workshop-based training program. Jeff and his wife are recent grandparents, and are glad for this new role.

Dr. Wei-Leong Goh is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Operation Mobilisation International, and a board director of the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (Singapore). He is the advisor and co-founder of HealthServe, a non-profit serving low-wage migrant workers, and was named Singaporean of the Year 2017. A family physician, he runs a clinic in a low-income neighbourhood and is active in regional missions and community development. Wei-Leong earned his MBBS from the National University of Singapore. He is a founding board member of A Rocha Singapore and advisor to Antioch21, a missions network, and Agathos, a digital crowdfunding platform. He is currently the Regional General Secretary of the International Christian Medical Dental Association (SE Asia) and serves in the Lausanne Singapore Committee. He lives in Singapore and his life mission is being a Catalyst Bringing Life in Diversity with a special interest in social justice, the next generation and connecting people one to another.

Jane Jelgerhuis is currently CEO of INTRMZO, a philanthropic strategy consulting firm. In addition to working alongside other global organizations, she serves as Director of Global Philanthropy at United Bible Societies based in the United Kingdom. She earned her BA in Business Administration from Dordt University. Past leadership positions include Vice President of Business Development for former Congressman J.C. Watts at the Watts Partners in Washington D.C., Vice President of J.C. Watts Foundation and District Director for former Congressman, Peter Hoekstra. She is a Past President of Rotary Club of Holland and has served on many boards over the years. She and her husband Drew live in Holland, Michigan, USA and are the proud parents of Rev. Nathan and Jessica Newman, Rev. Ross and Sarah Jelgerhuis and David and Keeley Tenney, and proud Oma and Opa to 8 grandchildren.

Feruza Krason currently serves as a translation consultant and a translation co-coordinator at SIL Global. She earned her MA in Biblical languages from Gordon Conwell Theological seminary. In the past, Feruza served on the board of the COMMA network and the board of the school district of Ipswich (Massachusetts, USA). She also sits on the board of ICAM, a local PEG (Public, Education and Government) organization. Feruza was one of the mother tongue translators of the first full Uzbek Bible. She lives far from her homeland Uzbekistan, in Ipswich, MA with her husband. She is the proud mother of three and the fun grandmother of one.

Eiji Matsumoto is the founder and Board Chair of the Japan Deaf Gospel Association. In addition to serving as Pastor of Yamagata Deaf Christ Church, Conservative Baptist Association of Japan, he serves on the Executive Committee of the Asia Pacific Sign Language Development Association (APSDA). His past roles include President of APSDA, and Chair of the FOBAI Deaf Development Group. He has also served as a committee member of the Asia Pacific Deaf Fellowship. He lives in Yamagata, Japan, and he is married with one son and one daughter. He is encouraged by Isaiah 43:4 that God values him as a Deaf person.

Peter Munguti currently serves as the Executive Director for Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL) E.A.; a WGA organization based in Kenya which also has work in Tanzania, South Sudan and Nuba Mountains. Peter is also currently the chairman of the board of SIL Kenya, the chairman of FOBA Kenya and a co-convenor of the Impact Network group that brings together language and literacy actors from over 10 nations of the world. Peter holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Moi University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from Egerton University. He is also a trained accountant. Peter currently lives in Nairobi Kenya together with his wife Jane, two sons, James and John, daughter, Patience and daughter in-law Lillian.

Susan Nyaga Anzuruni is currently serving as the Director for SIL’s Anglophone institute for the Development of Languages and Translation in Africa (iDELTA) at SIL, Africa Area. She is also the Academic Liaison with SIL’s partner training institutions and a certified Senior Literacy and Education Consultant. She earned her PhD in General Linguistics from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, an MA in Education (HRD) from the University of Huddersfield in the UK and a Bachelor of Education (English & Literature) from Kenyatta University in Kenya. Through SIL’s Advocacy & Alliance Building department and SIL LEAD, Susan has been a consultant with education ministries for various literacy and MLE projects in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and South Sudan. She is also serving on the Micah Global and the Wycliffe South Africa Boards. Susan lives in Nairobi with her husband and their two daughters.

He earned a B.A and B.Th-degree at the University of the Free State, South Africa and completed Senior Management Development Diploma at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Past roles include Senior Pastor in the Dutch Reformed Church of South Africa, Executive Director of Jericho Walls Prayer Network, CEO of the Global Day of Prayer, COO of 24-7 Prayer, SA Regional Manager at Mergon and MENA Regional Manager at Mergon. He served in various leadership capacities on School Boards, Community Projects and served as Board member of the International Prayer Council, Call2All, 24-7 Prayer, Pneumatix, Jericho Walls Prayer Network and Crossroads Ministries. Etienne and his wife, Wilma, currently live in Třinec, Czech Republic.

Andy Warren-Rothlin is a Global Translation Consultant with the United Bible Societies (responsible especially for Chad, Pakistan and Afghanistan), as well as Bible Translation Roadmap Coordinator, Muslim Audiences Advisor, and Associate Editor of The Bible Translator; he represents UBS on ETEN’s Field Strategy Working Group. After an MA in French and German in Oxford, he studied in Göttingen, then did an MPhil and PhD in Hebrew in Cambridge. Past roles include Rédacteur en chef of the Manuels de traduction series and Le Sycomore, and Professor of Hebrew and PhD Programme Director at the Theological College of Northern Nigeria. He lived for four years in a village in Ghana, fifteen years in Nigeria and now lives in a village in Switzerland.

Mike Painter serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of SIL. Since joining SIL in 2003, he has held several financial roles, including 12 years in Brazil, and brings a deep understanding of nonprofit financial operations in international contexts. His goal is to equip leaders to steward financial resources effectively and align financial planning and reporting with organizational purpose.
Before joining SIL, he worked with a national public accounting firm, specializing in audit and consulting services for nonprofit organizations. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Biola University, an MBA from Hope International University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
In addition to his role at SIL, he serves on the Audit Committee of a credit union and is a member of the Board of Trustees for an educational institution, where he also chairs the Finance and Audit Committee.
He lives in Dallas with his wife. Mike is an active runner and enjoys spending time with his family, including his three adult children, often around a board game.

Joan Spanne is currently the Corporation Secretary for SIL Global. In addition to serving the SIL Global Board of Directors, she also works in the SIL Archives as Repository Architect. She earned her Master of Information and Library Services from the University of Michigan, and her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of California at Davis. Past roles include founding director of the SIL Language and Culture Archives and of the ProgressBible information service. She volunteers as a facilitator for online classes with Let’s Talk Race (LTRMinistries.com). She resides in Duncanville, Texas.
