SQL Autocomplete doesn't work (5.5.0) #28

Open

Description

@jacktinuss

Hi!

We have a problem on one of our sites. The uComponents SQL Autocomplete datatype is not working.

The Umbraco version is 6.2.4 (upgraded from 4.7.11) and the uComponents version is 5.5.0 (upgraded from 5.0.0) We havent used the SQL Autocomplete before the upgrade of uComponents and Umbraco - so it is difficult to say if the problem also was pressent before the upgrade.

We have similar Umbraco setups on other sites where the autocomplete is working just fine (only difference is that the working sites haven't been upgraded but just simply installed from the newest Umbraco versions).

We are using a simple sql query to retrieve the records from the database. Something similar to this:

SELECT EmployeeID as Value, Fullname as Text
FROM BookingSystem_User
WHERE Fullname like '%@autoCompleteText%'

If we change the datatype to SQL CheckBoxList or SQL DropDownList using the following sql query:

SELECT EmployeeID as Value, Fullname as Text
FROM BookingSystem_User

the datatypes are working just fine.

Using the console in the browser we can see that no calls are made when typing text into the SQL Autocomplete textbox on a page. On the sites where the autocomplete actually works, we can see that calls are made every time you enter a new letter. Something like this:

http://www.mysite.com/Base/EE395ED1-CE6E-4417-AEEB-BCA780D3E96B/GetData/1236/4103

Do you have any clues what could be wrong?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

What are full configuration options ? (does re-saving the datatype config help (in case options were added to the the SQL AutoComplete in the newer version of uComponents))

    Hi Hendy

I have tried re-saving both the datatype and the documenttype where it is used. I guess that is what you mean by re-saving the datatype config?

The configuration settings are the default values:
    Min Length: 1
    Max Suggestions: 0
    Min Items: 0
    Max Items: 0
    Allow Duplicates: no

    Thanks
