Welcome!
What did you expect to see?
We are in process of migration from ingress nginx into traefik.
With traefik for basicauth configuration I need to provide users, otherwise ingress is not reconciled, logs polluted with erros and users see 404 instead of 401.
2026-09-04T09:30:12Z ERR Cannot resolve auth secret, skipping ingress error="getting users from secret: secret test/test-auth contains no user credentials" ingress="test/ingress rule-0 path-3" namespace=test providerName=kubernetesingressnginxThis behaviour is really confusing for the cases where route management is separated from user management. I tried it also with direct middleware usage with the same result.
Could it be possibly something you would consider to change or there is reasoning behind treating empty user base as an error ?
