convert pyObjects to c# types. #2358

I know this have been asked multiple times but I still dont find a practical answer, plus it seems strange that such a common problem is not well covered anywhere.
Q: when I invoke a python method var pyDict = pythonScript.InvokeMethod("testFunct"); and the return type of testFunct is a dictionary. how do I convert that var in a c sharp dictionary of strings or whatever? same for lists. should I always create my own methods?
