What's the current status of this project? #2092
|
Hello, I have started using this player and although I see a lot of potential in it, I am finding several errors that I think should be solved. I'm even willing to contribute code to improve the experience, but I'm a bit confused with the project situation. Since issues are closed, I can only log problems I encounter in discussions, but I find it difficult to manage them this way without overwhelming the discussions. On the other hand, I have read that PRs are not accepted, which I would understand if the project were complete, but right now I see many limitations that should be addressed to make it a fully functional application. That's why my question is, I would like to know the status of the project, its maintenance and if there is interest in continuing its development, solving the errors and lack of functionality. In any case, the project is incredible and I am very happy with the current result. Congratulations on the result and thank you very much for sharing it. |

Hey, thanks for the kind words and for trying Nuclear out. The project is actively maintained and under heavy development. I keep shipping new features and bugfixes, with releases often happening multiple times a day, or at least once every couple days. On issues and PRs: both are closed intentionally. This is because I do not seek code contributions. Nuclear has a plugin system for developers who want to add new features. Here's how to get started with plugins: https://docs.nuclearplayer.com/nuclear/plugins/getting-started That doesn't mean feedback isn't welcome. Discussions work well for reporting bugs or suggesting things, and I do read them. If you run into specific problems, feel free to open a separate discussion for each one with steps to reproduce. That's the most helpful thing you can do as a user. And in fact many bugfixes originate in these discussions, Discord reports, and other places. If you find the plugin system is not enough for the feature you have in mind, you can suggest how it should be expanded. Thanks again for using Nuclear and for the kind words about the project. Glad you're enjoying it! |
