I'm always frustrated when my mind switches fast between songs I want to play and I have to do a new search (usually through the 3rd panel) plus managing the playlist.
Describe the solution you'd like
cmus-like panel (second cmus panel) that displays all tracks as well as album/artist tags with zero level of depth/arborescence so one can quickly search and play (using "/" + search + Enter) whatever song/album/artist one likes. cmus is so simple and efficient !
Describe alternatives you've considered
Using cmus from remote shell, instead of an mpd client, to play my music.
Additional context
I find the library/browse display (2nd panel) v playlist display (1st panel) isn't ideal and too cumbersome. Probably also because I sort my library with just one level of depth per album.
I reckon the limits should be blurred ; having an (cmus-like) panel that acts as both a display (for the whole library with zero level of depth/arborescence) and a playlist (simply typing Enter starts playing the selected song directly as embedded in the global display, without needing a playlist/queue). Typically this would be a supplementary feature of the 4th panel.
