Trademark Notice

Mru™, the Mru logo (the orbit-M mark), and mru.space™ are trademarks of Mru Aerospace, Inc. ("we," "us," "our").

These are unregistered marks, which we identify with the ™ symbol. We use Mru, the Mru logo, and mru.space to identify this project, its whitepaper, and the website at mru.space. We have not registered these marks (®), and we don't claim exclusive rights in the name or priority over similar or earlier names used by others. Our aim is narrow: to identify our own work and avoid confusion about its source.

Code license vs. trademark

The source code in this repository is licensed under Apache License 2.0. That license grants generous rights to use, modify, and redistribute the code — but, per Apache 2.0 §6, it does not grant any rights to our trademarks, trade names, logos, or brand identity. This notice governs those marks separately.

Use that's fine (no permission needed)

You're welcome to make honest, descriptive ("nominative") reference to Mru, for example to:

  • State that your work uses, integrates with, is compatible with, or is based on Mru or the Mru source code.
  • Link to mru.space or to this repository.
  • Discuss, review, teach, or report on the project.

When you do, please use the marks accurately and don't imply that we sponsor, endorse, or are affiliated with your work unless we actually are.

Use that needs our written permission

Please don't, without asking us first:

  • Use Mru, mru.space, or any confusingly similar name or logo as the name, branding, logo, or domain of your own product, service, project, site, company, or social account.
  • Redistribute the code (in source or modified form) under the Mru name or mark in a way that suggests it's the official Mru.
  • Use the marks in a way that's likely to confuse people about the origin of a product or service, or that suggests endorsement or affiliation we haven't agreed to.

If the code license (Apache 2.0) and this trademark notice ever appear to conflict, the license still governs the code, and this notice still governs the marks — they cover different things.
