ToolHandles/ToolLineHandles could set the mouse cursor when hovered over or active #20724
widgets.ToolHandles and ToolLineHandles could set the mouse cursor e.g. to a hand when the mouse cursor is over them or currently grabbing one of them (one could even distinguish open and closed hands, but that can also be a second step).
So I committed this earlier, but as you say it should maybe be on ToolLineHandles. What's missing there is grab_range, and I wonder if we should move that value over to the handles? I'll open a PR with that to discuss first.
This issue has been marked "inactive" because it has been 365 days since the last comment. If this issue is still present in recent Matplotlib releases, or the feature request is still wanted, please leave a comment and this label will be removed. If there are no updates in another 30 days, this issue will be automatically closed, but you are free to re-open or create a new issue if needed. We value issue reports, and this procedure is meant to help us resurface and prioritize issues that have not been addressed yet, not make them disappear. Thanks for your help!
This wasn't implemented in ToolHandles/ToolLineHandles specifically, but I think it's close enough to what was intended. If there's anything else missing, I think @dstansby might have the work and we don't have to track this one specifically any more.
