How to appConfig.statusCheck as a simple ping check? #1057

statusCheckAllowInsecure only works on individual items, not under appConfig (the config validator flags it there too), so the self-signed certs still fail.

For a plain "is it reachable" check, swap statusCheck for the ping check:

appConfig:
  pingCheckEnabled: true

That pings each item's host from the Dashy server, so certificates don't come into it - it just tells you the host answers, not that the web UI is up. Take statusCheck: true out, otherwise you'll get both indicators and the HTTP one stays red. If the host to ping isnt the one in an item's url, set pingCheckHost on that item.

Or keep the HTTP check and allow insecure certs just on the devices that need it:
