Copy to clipboard - How to change default png format to a different one? #4830
|
Hello, is there any way of changing the file format from default png? I would like to use my preferred format, because currently its cumbersome to always have to save the image first and then upload it into discord for example, where there is just 10mb upload limit for free users. On 4K screen with HDR, the image is always above 10mb with the default png format... I just noticed that the option of using jpg file format was blocked, because of some compatibility issues, so I guess using different formats causes problems huh... |

saveAsFileExtension=.jpg
jpegQuality=75That still involves a file, but it avoids manually converting PNG after each capture. For direct paste on Windows, Flameshot will remain PNG until the upstream compatibility problem is solved. Also, HDR does not by itself make the clipboard PNG smaller; a detailed 4K capture can easily exceed Discord's limit because PNG is lossless. Cropping the selected area helps, but changing to JPEG is the meaningful size reduction where the platform supports it. If this clarifies the available option for your OS, please mark it as the accepted answer so future users can find the platform distinction quickly. |
