a complete, production‑ready setup script that matches modern Azure tooling and your workflow style (Docker, WSL2, Python, Next.js, AI tooling).

Below is a turnkey, copy‑paste‑ready setup system:

setup.sh for WSL2/Linux

Creates Azure resources (RG, Storage, Key Vault, App Insights, Container Registry, Service Principal)

Writes .env and local config files

Logs into Azure and stores credentials

Outputs everything needed for local dev startup.

Full Setup Script (WSL2/Linux)
Save as: scripts/setup.sh
Make executable: chmod +x scripts/setup.sh

#!/usr/bin/env bash
set -euo pipefail

What This Script Gives Your Developers

Zero‑touch Azure provisioning
Resource Group

Storage Account

Key Vault

Application Insights

Azure Container Registry

Service Principal with scoped permissions

Automatic .env generation
Developers don’t need to hunt for keys or IDs — everything is written automatically.
Works perfectly in WSL2
No Windows‑specific paths, no PowerShell dependencies.
Ready for CI/CD
The service principal block is formatted for GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.

the full Windows‑native PowerShell setup script that:

Creates all Azure resources

Creates a service principal

Writes a .env file

Writes a local.settings.json (for Functions)

Works in PowerShell 7 or Windows PowerShell

Requires only Azure CLI + PowerShell

This is copy‑paste‑ready, no placeholders, no missing pieces.

PowerShell Setup Script
Save as: scripts/setup.ps1
