I'm happily playing Amiga games in retropie by amiberry - just installed: some games work - perfectly. Unfortunately, I have issues with a few games (e.g. Another World, Defender of the Crown...) and when it happens, it complains about missing bios files - often kick34005.A500, but sometimes kick40068.A1200 too. The problem is that I followed to the letter the instructions in https://github.com/BlitterStudio/amiberry/wiki/Kickstart-ROMs-(BIOS), and those files are present, named correctly, and with the correct CRC32 (checked - twice!). The path in the PATHS tab is correct:/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/amiga, and the files are there, with correct permission and ownership: pi@retropie:~/RetroPie/BIOS/amiga $ ls -alrth I tried to rescan the paths, but it doesnt work if I try to set the BIOS manually in the ROM tab, it sees just the directory mt32-roms and the two files aros-rom.bin aros-ext.bin there. But it doesnt see the other files - and it isnt a permission or ownership problem, as you can see in the listing. Another strange fact: I run a game that is working (Flashback! wonderful...) and checked which bios it used - and it is the same!!! In the ROM tab the field indicating the bios is empty, and no BIOSes are shown in the /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/amiga directory. Misterious... |

Since you're testing this on Retropie, I'll have to assume you're using Amiberry-Lite, not Amiberry. Try renaming those ROM files slightly, giving them the extension "*.rom" instead of A500, CD32, etc. Just adding After doing that, try a Rescan ROMs once again. When ROM files are detected, they are cached and the ROM list in the GUI will be automatically populated with them as well. |

that's it! Thank you, it solved immediately the issue, not even a rescan was required... Can I suggest to mention it briefly in the wiki? It could help a lot of people there. thank you! |

.romat the end should be enough. The emulator detects them using the CRC checksums anyway, so the exact filename doesn't have to match. But there was an old limitation in Amiberry-Lite (which got fixed since in Amiberry), that didn't show the ROM files unless they had a known extension in the filename, and the machine name was NOT part of those known extensions. Adding .rom to them will make them visible in the requester at least. After doing that, try a Rescan ROMs once again.…
