Usage notes
[edit]The full stop distinguishes the ordinal from the cardinal numeral: 1. plass means “first place”, whereas plass 1 means “place number one”.
A space separates the full stop from a following word, as in 1. mai (“the first of May”) and 1. klasse (“first grade”). No letter suffix is added.
