EXCLUSIVE: Universal’s Wicked: For Good has crossed the $400M mark globally, now with more than $407M through Wednesday worldwide. Of that, $278.1M is from domestic and $129M from the international box office.
The Jon M. Chu-directed pic is the 15th movie of 2025 to reach the four-century milestone and the 12th among Hollywood titles.
Wicked: For Good started overseas rollout on November 19 and bowed in North America on November 21. The first weekend opened to $147M domestic and $223M around the world, besting 2024’s Wicked $112.5M domestic and $164M global start.

The desperation in the comments for this to fail, is hilarious. Anything this film makes is profit because it was filmed back to back and When it gets released on demand, it will get another huge boost. Then you have sales of merch and it gets another big boost. They’re not losing money. Far from it.
If ticket sales are down, you can bet every other aspect is down too. But you are most likly correct. Hollywood is so bereft of ideas, this will probably get a 3rd movie.
Will be lucky to cross 550m. Expect under 100m gross domestic and even lower fross overseas. Very bad for Jon and company. I guess that Oscar will not happen right?
Underperforming almost everywhere. Mind you, there’s no direct competition (Gladiator 2, Moana 2). Zootopia was bound to do well, but not this well.
You are aware of the impact of the holiday season and the Christmas/New Year period on box office right? Wicked: For Good is going to be just fine mate 🤣
It already crossed over 100 million overseas. You clearly don’t know what you are talking about. It’s one of the frontrunners this awards season, so good luck to your unrealistic wishes for this not to reach 2026’s Oscars.
Unfortunately it’s already falling behind the first despite the bigger opening. It probably won’t make it to 700M.
It won’t beat MI, never mind F1, Superman, etc.
Won’t make it to 600M mind about 700.
Yeah it might not. The international numbers are pretty week. I think $500 million global is a certainty, beyond that is a question mark. If it does some decent numbers in China and Japan, reaching $600m global is possible. That’s probably the best case scenario at this point.
What’s wrong with Japan’s release dates? March? March!? For real?
Same as first one and it still managed $24M
