Hulu has set President’s Day, February 15, 2016 for the premiere of thriller 11.22.63, based on Stephen King‘s bestselling novel.
The nine-hour limited event series centers on high school English teacher Jake Epping (James Franco) who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy – but his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, falling in love and the past itself, which doesn’t want to be changed. Chris Cooper, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Cherry Jones, Sarah Gadon, Lucy Fry, George MacKay and Daniel Webber also star.
J.J. Abrams, Stephen King, Bridget Carpenter and Bryan Burk serve as executive producers. Kevin Macdonald (Last King Of Scotland, State Of Play, Black Sea) directs and executive produces the first two hours.
The book was great, except for the fact that King seems to buy into the Oswald narrative. Other than that, one of his most immersive novels in years. It’ll be interesting to see how badly it gets mangled on screen, as King’s work often, unfortunately, does.

Stephen King stole this idea from a 1985 New Twilight Zone episode titled “Profiles in Silver” and more important: I had nothing to do with the killing of JFK. I was the patsy. Doesn’t everybody know this by now? I was framed by the CIA. And time traveling to stop me makes no sense. I wasn’t involved.
Franco would be better off time traveling to stop the real killers who murdered our great president. I was the perfect patsy. I worked for the CIA for many years, I faked my defection to Russia, I pretended to be a Castro supporter then they finally realized they could use me to be the patsy for the JFK assassination.
He started writing it in the 70s then went back to it. He didn’t steal it from the twilight zone.
When does James Franco sleep?
