Factory Entertainment Announces New STRANGE NEW WORLDS, VOYAGER, and STAR TREK IV Prop Replicas

Well it’s Star Trek Day once again, and this year’s 60th anniversary means there will be plenty of announcements about licensed products to coincide with the franchise’s birthday… starting with a few high-end items from Factory Entertainment.

To kick off today’s Star Trek Day releases, Factory Entertainment has a special run of illustrator Matthew Cushman’s new cutaway poster of the classic Starship Enterprise which debuted at this year’s Star Trek Las Vegas convention in early August — featured on Adam Savage’s Tested channel a few weeks ago.

Years in the making, this extraordinary illustration reveals the legendary U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 like never before, peeling back the hull to expose the intricate interior decks, engineering systems, crew facilities, and countless details that have captivated Star Trek fans for generations.

Drawing upon decades of research and technical reference, Cushman’s artwork combines artistic mastery with an unparalleled appreciation for Gene Roddenberry’s vision, creating a piece that rewards repeated viewing as new details emerge with every look. The original cutaway became an officially licensed Paramount release and has been celebrated by fans, collectors, and museums alike.

The Star Trek Day poster release is limited to (of course) 1701 units and measures 24″x36″ — it can be preordered today for $69.99 and will ship in October.

The biggest announcement is the second entry in the company’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds electronic prop replicas (following their version of that show’s phaser that arrived in 2025), the Strange New Worlds communicator!

Launching for preorders today with shipments expected in the Spring of 2027, the all-metal Strange New Worlds communicator features interactive buttons, lights and sounds, and an integrated digital screen, built in coordination with the series’ prop department.

Factory Entertainment was granted access to the Paramount Star Trek archives, where the original Strange New Worlds communicator props were carefully studied. This research was supplemented by the original digital models and production video files used to create the hero props.

Each replica is fully CNC machined from metal, with its finishes precisely matched to the production originals. The replica is powered by an included replaceable rechargeable battery, charged by an included wireless charging pad.

The hero props used on screen contain no onboard audio, with their sounds added during post-production. For the replica, however, the production team provided the original screen-accurate audio effects and video effects, which have been integrated into the communicator replica to bring it to life, those features are:

– Active-On-Opening video & audio
– Digital Moiré
– Outgoing Hail
– Incoming Hail
– Subspace Interference

The Strange New Worlds communicator can be preordered today for $699 and is limited to just 1000 units.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Factory Entertainment is releasing their next Klingon prop replica — this time, the Klingon hand phaser seen in the original Star Trek crews’ fourth feature.

This hand weapon is used by Kirk to seal in the hospital medical team who was attempting to perform cranial surgery on an injured Chekov, and more notably when Chekov attempted (and failed) to stun his FBI interrogator.

Factory Entertainment was fortunate to briefly own one of the original Klingon Hand Phaser props from the production. The original was carefully examined and digitally 3D scanned by the Factory Entertainment team, providing an exceptionally accurate foundation for the replica.

Constructed from resin and ABS components, the replica faithfully captures the unusual proportions, details and character of the original filming prop. Integrated light and sound effects recreate its distinctive on-screen appearance, including effects that were originally added during post-production.

The Klingon hand phaser replica can be preordered today for $299; it is limited to only 500 units and is expected to ship by the end of 2026.

Star Trek: Voyager fans get some love in Factory Entertainment’s new announcements as well today, as the company is also releasing a pair of retro replicas: the “ray gun” weapons used by Captain Proton and Queen Arachnia in Tom Paris’ Captain Proton holodeck adventures!

CAPTAIN PROTON RAY GUN

Factory Entertainment was granted rare access to the original production-retained ray gun, allowing this replica to be faithfully recreated from the actual screen-used design. Members of the original production team also provided valuable insight into its construction.

Cast in durable epoxy resin and finished in the colorful retro-futuristic palette of the original, the replica reveals the vivid pulp-sci-fi styling that was transformed into monochrome for the show.

QUEEN ARACHNIA RAY GUN

Factory Entertainment is proud to own the original Queen Arachnia ray gun prop. Using this unique production piece as the master and working in consultation with members of the original art department, the replica has been faithfully recreated to capture the character and craftsmanship of the original.

The main body is cast in durable epoxy resin, while the emitter is precision-machined from aluminum, faithfully reproducing the original combination of materials and finishes.

The throwback designs include signed plaques by Robert Duncan McNeill (Tom Paris) and Kate Mulgrew (Kathryn Janeway), and retail for $499 each — or $899 total if you buy the company’s two-pack set.
