Just downloaded the app. We moved schools 3 years ago and my daughter is doing Greek and school. Year 1 of new school she was keen on Greek and got the Greek prize. Year 2, again. We in year 3 and she is still a beginner learner but super keen to do a little more to get ahead. Downloaded the app. Created an account. She did 2 lessons back to back with such eagerness and wanted to do more. We’ve set up a daily goal. She is 10 years old and so happy. Thank you. I can’t wait to see her improvement. PLEASE ADD MORE LANGUAGES FROM AFRICA !!!!! Soon please !!!

I started using Duolingo in 2019 and it has been absolutely amazing. The premium version is even better but you can still make good progress without going premium. Overall good app, being awarded a free 3 day trial every now and then keeps you motivated so even if you can’t afford to go Super you get chances to see how amazing it is.

Not fun if you don’t have premium

Duolingo is supposed to make learning a language interactive and fun. Key word fun. Duolingo CAN NOT DO THAT. Unless you buy premium, Duolingo is not fun. First of all, they bombard you with ads. It wastes your learning time. Second, the heart system is TERRIBLE. If you make any mistake, you will lose a heart. Once you run out of hearts, it will put your through the same tedious review just to earn back one heart, only for you to make another mistake in your lesson, meaning doing the same review TO GET MORE HEARTS. Worst part: heart recharge is 4 HOURS. So unless you want to wait four hours, GOOD LUCK WASTING YOUR BRAIN DOING MORE REVIEWS 😄 If Duolingo could be a little less money hungry, it would be an amazing app.
