In Words in Progress, the game begins with seven letters stacked vertically on the screen. Your goal is to combine these letters into words. Whenever you move a letter to another row to build a word, its empty spot is instantly replaced with a new letter from your pile. After submitting a word, new letters are added again, keeping the puzzle constantly evolving. How many words can you make?
Enjoy a variety of game modes for both solo players and online multiplayer fans. Play casually for fun and learning, or compete against others and climb the ranks!
In our latest Story Mode you follow our hero as they try to deal with a mysterious fridge that keeps haunting their dreams night after night. You can progress through more than 45 handcrafted levels, each featuring up to 3 stars to earn for players looking to fully master every challenge.
In Single Player Endless Mode, the goal is to stay in the game as long as you can. Keep your letter pile from running out by completing challenges of varying word lengths. But beware: if you can’t keep up, it’s game over!
Our Daily Challenge lets you compete against players around the world in the exact same game. How many points can you score? Climb the Daily Leaderboards and prove your skills. Remember: if today isn’t your day, there’s always another challenge waiting tomorrow!
In Multiplayer Mode, you and your opponent each start with 40 letters. Do you take the risk of adding letters to words still in progress, aiming for a long word but risking an incomplete or invalid one? Or do you play it safe by “cashing in” shorter, valid words? A smart strategy is key if you want to outscore your opponent and claim victory!
I like this fame because its VERY simple and to the point and it is NOT to hard to understand! Some word games get very complicated, I do wish there could be a little bit more explanation on the rounds and maybe a little bit more to play but other then that... this game keeps me saying one more round.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback! We are looking at how we can improve our tutorial in the future as well as adding new (online and offline) game modes. Stay tuned for more! We wish you lots of fun playing our game!
I like it BUT ...
peonprincess
I like this game very much but what I do NOT like is that sometimes when dragging the letters to form words if I move my mouse the wrong way or lose conttrol of my movement, the letter attaches to another one that I did NOT want and there is no way of fixing it. I've also managed to drag a perfectly good word with lots of points next to another letter at the top accidentally and then ended up having to discard the word altogether. It just seems to me that there should be an "undo" button somewhere. It's the one thing about this game that drives me crazy.

Hi! Thank you for your review. We agree that the impact of a simple misclick or early release can be very harsh. Therefore we've worked on a 'Merge Confirm' feature that can be toggled in the Settings. This feature allows players to 'confirm' every tile merge manually, so accidental merges or act-before-you-think merges can be either confirmed or reverted. The 'Merge Confirm' feature will roll out in our next (soon!) coming update, so stay tuned! We've also improved the responsiveness of the mouse-input on macOS in the upcoming update, so all Mac players should profit from more control over their mouse-input from the next update on! Thank you again for your review and for playing our game.
Screentime Error
HoosierintheHouse
Hello. I agree with another review. This seems like a good game, however this is an error with it incorrectly saying there is a Screentime limit on the Daily Challenge, when there is not. I know where to look in my Mac for this setting and it is not turned on anywhere. It is 100% an app issue, not an indivdual. Definitely need to look into this. Hard to review when I can't access all the features. Please do not respond with your generic this is how you fix your screentime like you did with Molly949 review. I know my computer. It's your app.
Developer Response
Hi! Thank you for your review! We are sorry to hear you are encountering difficulties with our game. We are very open to provide a fix, but it seems (based on research we did due to Molly's review) like you (both) ran into a bit of an edge case. This makes things very difficult for us to test without the exact isolated situation you are in. We would be greatly helped with your direct input. If possible, could you send us a message through our website: https://www.wordsinprogressthegame.com/send-us-a-message/ or directly via mail: info@wordsinprogressthegame.com. We are sure we can provide a fix if we can get some additional back-and-forth input. We hope to hear from you.Either way, we've added your report to our immediate 'to do' list and will surely take a deep dive into the possible source of the issue. Thank you in advance and thank you for playing our game!
Won't let me play on my Mac
Molly949
This is a good game, but rather than play on my tiny phone, I want to play on my Mac desktop. I'm stopped from playing the Daily Challenge because it says my Screen Time settings prevent me from multi-player games. I can find no such settings in Screen Time. I have searched throughout all System Preferences and find no settting that is preventing me from playing the Daily Words In Progress on my Mac.
Developer Response
Hi! We are sorry to hear that you are encountering issues with Screen Time. As this is a macOS related issue we are not 100% sure how to easily provide you with a solution. However, the following steps should perhaps offer some insight:You can edit your Screen Time settings for online games through: Screen Time > Content & Privacy > Content Restrictions > Scroll Down > Multiplayer Games. Try changing some of these values and the game should hopefully let you play online again. You can also try out some of the various Game Center values (within the same screen). If this doesn't work please let us know. You can always contact us through info@wordsinprogressthegame.com. We are happy to help you out.Thank you for your review and for playing the game!
