Community activities on these cards now show more details too. - The book search functionality has been massively improved. - There is a media type shortcut filter in the Home tab, to help you scroll less when you’re only looking for a specific media type. - Added an option to disable the last-search bubbles in the Search screen. - When starting a new readthrough, you can now specify any chapters you had previously read before starting to record sessions in the readthrough. - Fixed an issue where movies/shows re-releases were appearing under the “Upcoming” feeds. - Fixed an issue where chapters read were not appearing in the statistics. - Fixed an issue preventing GOG sign-in with third-party providers.

Cinephile has been reborn as Omniphile, an all-in-one media tracker that elevates your experience beyond just TV and movies. You can now also track video games, books, and audiobooks. The app is completely modular to respect the user’s preferences, so if you decide that you’d like to keep the pure Cinephile experience, you can disable the other media types that you’re not interested in and your experience will remain the same as it was in the legacy Cinephile app.

Enjoy a smoother browsing experience with the iOS 27 search bar, which collapses automatically as you scroll to give you more space to explore. You can also import your content from Bingers and SuiteTV.

Siri AI and exciting new Apple Intelligence features are here! - See a movie/show (or even a whole list of movies/shows) in some picture or browsing social media, etc? Ask Siri to add them to your Cinephile library! This will work both with text and images as well. - Type a search in natural language, like “90s comedies with Jim Carrey” and Cinephile will run a smart search for you! - There’s a new “For You” section in the search and discovery screen that will give you recommendations based on media you’ve watched and have rated highly. - You can now enter a prompt for the on-device LLM model (completely private; no information ever leaves your phone) describing what you’re in the mood for. Example: “A cyberpunk movie similar to Bladerunner”, and the algorithm will match you with appropriate titles. You will then play a swipe mini-game (Tinder-like) where you decide what you liked or disliked. Please note that these new features require an AI-capable device, and some of them also require a Premium membership.

This update brings several improvements: - You can now edit the movie’s runtime. - You can now edit the episodes’ air date and time. - The “Where to Watch” section now clearly distinguishes free, paid, and subscription content. - In the actor details screen, for TV shows the number of episode appearances can now be seen. - In the Home queue, movie sections now show the total runtime remaining to watch. - Changing covers, posters, and logos now come from a single “Change Artwork” button. - The iOS27 search bar has been visually improved. - Better iCloud performance at app launch. - Fixed an issue where the Apple Watch companion app didn’t load images for some users. - Full Greek localization.

The actors’ statistics have been completely revamped to show something a little different and more exciting. There’s now a dedicated screen for all your favorite actors and you can navigate to that actor’s details screen directly from here. There’s now also a new toggle that applies to most stats where you can choose between your entire library or only watched items (previously, all stats were only available for the latter). For instance, you may want to know actor appearances only for items that are already watched, or their appearances in general, across all library statuses. The app has been fully localized to three new languages: Polish, Hungarian, and Ukrainian. I’ve also fixed a bug that was breaking the “Interactive” vs “Static” modes for pie charts in the Stats screen.

This is a follow-up patch that addresses a bug introduced in the previous version where the keyboard would immediately dismiss upon entering any text in the search bar. The Home cards for movies and episodes have also been reworked to show a more consistent UI across all the different layout options.

And there’s more: - When recent movie releases are announced to come to a digital platform, you’ll now see where and when on the movie’s details screen. You can then even opt to be notified upon release. - When using the compact list layout, you’ll now see not just how many episodes are left, but also how much watch time remains.

- Added a "Watching Now" option that kicks off a timer with the movie/episode runtime and a corresponding Live Activity + widget intent. - Dropped movies now carry more info. You can set at which point during the movie you gave up and that partial watch time contributes to your watch time statistics. It also gets recorded permanently in your watch history, so you can see not only when you dropped the movie but how far in you were when you dropped it. - Rewatching a movie no longer means you necessarily record the rewatch immediately. You're now given options to send the movie to Up Next or For Later. If you choose "Rewatch Now" you can record the rewatch on the spot as before, or you can kick off the "Watching Now" timer. - The rating/review sharing card is now available to share right from the summary prompt that appears when watching a movie. - Fixed an issue where one-letter searches were impossible. - Fixed an issue where shows that changed the episode count from TMDB were impossible to refetch the metadata for.

This update brings an exciting new sharing feature, where right after watching an episode you get to select your favorite thumbnail from the in-episode shots and create beautifully designed sharing cards that show your episode’s rating, favorite character, and whatever thumbnail of your choosing. There are also the following improvements: - Changing thumbnails / covers / backdrops is now available to all users, not just Premium. - When marking as watched a season finale, you’re asked whether you’d also like to rate and/or review the season. - Added an option in the settings to choose whether to display the watched date or the released date for watched items in the shelves and collections. - Added a filter by just movies or just shows in the actor details screen. - More theme colors have been added, and all of the theme colors are now also available for the movies/shows assigned colors. - Improved the Favorite Actors and Favorite Genres charts in the stats; raised the cap from 20 to 100. - Fixed an issue where movies with digital-only releases were showing as “In Theaters”. - You can tap on your (or someone else’s) profile pic to zoom in. - Added import support for Refract.

This update brings a lot of nice improvements! - All ratings throughout all screens will follow your established rating tiers' colors (remember that these colors are fully customizable via Settings > Rating Tiers). And of course, this is all optional. If you'd rather keep the consistent app theme color for ratings, you can choose to opt out also in the same Settings > Rating Tiers screen. - There are now search results for movies franchises; try a search like “Avengers” or “Cloverfield” and you’ll see the franchise collection as a result! - The actor/director details screen has been completely reworked to show more meaningful results, and there are now also options to filter and sort.
