HINGE, DESIGNED TO BE DELETED
Hinge is the dating app for people who want to get off of dating apps. With profiles that show your personality through text, photos, video, and voice, you have unique conversations that lead to great dates.
HOW WE GET YOU OFF HINGE
When it comes to online dating, people are so busy matching that they’re not actually connecting, in person, where it counts. Hinge is on a mission to change that. So we built an app that’s designed to be deleted. Here’s how:
* We quickly learn your type. You’ll only be introduced to the best people for you.
* We give you a sense of someone’s personality. You’ll get to know potential dates through their unique answers to prompts, as well as information like religion, height, politics, dating intentions, relationship type, and much more.
* We make it easy to start a conversation. Every match begins by someone liking or commenting on a specific part of your profile. Our latest feature, Convo Starters, offers personalized ideas inspired from someone’s Prompt answers and photos to help you spark engaging conversations from the start.
* We want you to feel confident about meeting people in person. Selfie Verification makes it easier for daters on Hinge to ensure that they are who they say they are.
* We ask how your dates are going. After exchanging phone numbers with a Match, we’ll follow up to hear how your date went so we can make better recommendations in the future.
The app is free to use. Members looking to see everyone who likes them or send unlimited likes can upgrade to Hinge+. To access additional features, including enhanced recommendations and priority likes, we offer HingeX.

I think it’s a fine app but I think the ban system needs work.

Despite me getting banned — for what I perceive as unjustified without prior warnings —I would say this is still an amazing app to get your foot in the door. The ability to like and attach a comment to express your personality is really unique. I feel like the addition of the voice feature gives each user even more potential to express their individuality. In the world of dating apps, this is definitely the best one for people looking to make real moves. There are amazing things to be said about this app, but it comes with great difficulty to talk about because of the way they implement their bans. I was banned, as a paid member. I was not a user to leave explicit, sexual comments or even post nudity on my profile. If anything, I rarely spoke to anyone and just lived in my own world because there was not a lot of interest for someone like me. However, I stayed positive because I knew Hinge gave its users the tools to build a strong profile. Unfortunately, suddenly and out of nowhere, I was just banned! I went through the appeals process but, shortly thereafter, I received an automated message lacking nuance to my case saying the decision was final. That’s the end of the story.Although it pains me to write this review, I would still recommend this dating app. I believe its capabilities give the common person the opportunity to shine. I wish I could tell you what to avoid, but I still don’t know to this day, just be careful!
I Met the Love of My Life

I've tried ALL the apps... I moved to a new area just as the Covid lockdowns started... I'm also a transman- so dating is very complicated and difficult. Hinge allowed me to put all my information about myself, what I'm looking for in someone and also show parts of my personality on a platform where I could connect with other open-minded and/or queer people. It's not a small platform so there were lots and lots of people to interact with. Like anything it takes time, but in the end I connected with the most intelligent, silly, and amazing woman who turned out to be the person I've been looking for my whole life (I'm 31 now). We started out two hours apart, and ended up moving in together in a completely different state. We have our struggles like any couple, but without a doubt she is "my person" and I am hers. I've never loved anyone as much as I love her and I already know the span of my life isn't going to be enough time with her. -- so, out of all the apps, this is the only one I've ever had good results with-- even before her, and especially within the LGBT+ community. AND ITS FREE. You're gunna run into weirdos and duds and ones you like but don't work out... but you will be given chances to get to know people on this app- unlike all the others where I almost never received communication (by initiation nor response)... hinge is the only app I'd recommend. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP YOULL FIND YOUR PERSON TOO 💜 There really is someone for everyone.
It can work (I was shocked too)

After being on/off dating apps for the last 7 years (primarily for the ego boost when I was feeling lonely) I had never met anyone from an app. I have had several relationships over the years and always wanted to meet someone “authentically”. First of all, I have to give props to Hinge because of all of the apps, I felt that everyone here was more interested in building a relationship rather than a hook up. It was so easy to strike up a conversation based off of the prompts or photos you can respond to. A+!! Anyway, I had hinge for a few months and deleted it because I again, didn’t plan to meet anyone. Downloaded it again in April and really started to get along with someone. After convincing myself to give in and see how thing online dating works actually works, I had an amazing time on my date! Fast forward 2 months and I’m now in a relationship with this guy I met online. As weird as it may feel, just do it. Once you’re in person with this individual you connected with online, it’s no longer an online concept but truly building an authentic relationship. The memories and experiences you make with this person are yours, just because you may not have run into them in person doesn’t discredit the experiences. I truly am so happy and have never been treated as great as I have been by this guy. It can work! You just have to let it and be open to the experience when you’re ready😊•••••••••••••••••••••••••EDIT from my original review 2 years ago, WE’RE ENGAGED!!! It happened for us, it can for you too 🥰
We made performance improvements which means you may end up deleting our app even sooner than you intended.
