Please include options to change video speed, and also allow to crop video in app I love this app use it daily it’s my trusty go to specifically for the histogram please do not ever get rid of that that’s by far the reason I come to this app and have used it for years love the price it’s worth it but please allow more options for editing the footage rather than just the image quality and such thanks!

  • Does not preserve preset

    RPWa

Having an issue lately where I selected one preset, then go back to the library, go back to the picture, select a new preset , back again to the library, back to the picture and it reverts me back to the 1st preset used. Long description but that’s the best way I can as a step by step. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled, have the lifetime tier, but can’t seem to correct the problem. Hopefully the developer can suggest a fix.

  • Used to be the Gold Standard 5-Star App; Now Unusable

    Redeemer

Since December, the app's histogram has been utterly broken. Any modification - literally ANY - caused the histogram to display a clipping alert. LITERALLY. ANY. This caused me to wonder if there was an actual error in editing, or just the app bugging out. Either way, it made me lose confidence in even bothering editing photos using the app, which is heartbreaking. I haven't been able to edit photos with full confidence, and will probably cancel my subscription since the bug still exists. I've tried holding out for a fix, but it doesn't seem like it's a priority, even though I'm sure I can't be the only one experiencing this major bug. Not sure how others are tolerating it.

Hello, thank you for your feedback, we’ve actually fixed the histogram issue and it will be usable again in the next release. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are also working on fixing various other bugs and issues with app stability/crashes. Hope the next release improves your performance!

  • Great for a while

I used this app for a couple months and at first it was great. It edited the raw photos from my Canon and turned them into beautiful JPGs all for free. But suddenly out the blue, the app just started crashing. It would crash when making edits and I wouldn’t even be able to export my photos. I contacted support around 4 month ago, they said they were working on it but nothing has changed. It could be because I currently have an older iPhone 13 but it seemed like a more global platform when looking online for answers. FIX YOUR APP PLEASE!!

  • Crashing on new iPad M2

This week I been trying to back up and organize my photos. upload/download, then edit in Darkroom and re-upload to a photo site. I opted for darkroom over light room cause that’s how you develop photos in real life. Anyway I’m trying to edit about 1500 photos and after about 10 or 20 the app lags out and crashes. Progress is saved picture by picture so no loss of work. However, it would be nice if I could just select all and use a custom filter I made. Rather than having to go through each and every photo and click several buttons over an over for hours on end. Been at this for a few days on an off hour here hour there. So I think your app is having issues with my large library or it is just buggy, either way wanted to let you know my experience. just can’t do multiple photo edits and can’t seem to avoid crashes every few sets of edits. Thanks, love the app and will continue to use it. Fix the stability and add multiple image editing ability and I’ll start up a paid subscription. Edit-found the "Batch" edit, the ability to edit multiple photos was there the whole time. Please work on application stability

  • Screenshots are pictures too

If I could add one advanced feature it would be spot-selected white balance, but I'm content with the controls for the most part. If I could add one basic feature that really shouldn't be an issue, though, it'd be to import screenshots. Why the hell are screenshots excluded? I have this near-perfect photo editor and can't edit 1/4 of my photos. I know screenshots aren't ideal for printing but they're good for testing crops and testing edits of photos, the latter I can't do without making copies of photos thanks to this app's strange limitation. Yes I can test edits on a single image but I would have to note and undo every edit to try the next. It just seems so much more inefficient than simply allowing screenshots to be edited.Edit: added one star. It's good that screenshots aren't completely excluded, but I still wish they appeared in albums like normal photos do. In an attempt to declutter, per developer's response, I feel like they've actually created more clutter in making screenshots harder to navigate and cause needless frustration by making them disappear from albums they're in. If you want to declutter the normal camera roll, that's fine, but favorites and other albums should be left alone.

Screenshots are there, we just hide theme to declutter. In the Album selector, pick the Screenshots Smart Album and browse and edit to your hearts content.

  • Don't be a moron

First off, this is a nice photo editor. I feel that the developers definitely accomplished what they set out to achieve with the first version. The filters are a nice starting point for additional adjustments or work well as-is. The 'tap to adjust' feature for the editing controls is genius. Now the don't be a moron part- No, this app should not be free. No, you shouldn't be able to "try features before you buy..." The developers don't owe you anything. They aren't making you download their app. No one is putting a gun to your head. No one owes you a new photo editor, much less for free. True, "the curves don't work like Photoshop..." However, I'm pretty sure Darkroom isn't made by Adobe. I'm pretty sure it's not Photoshop. And I'm pretty sure Photoshop costs more than $2.99. For those of you who still want something for nothing, first direct us to the work that you are doing for free. Pay the $3.00 or use the "free" photo editor that came with your $600 phone. Take advantage of the benefits of manipulating the curves as designed, or download your photos to a computer and use Photoshop "for curves that work like desktop Photoshop." Don't be a moron.

  • Are you kidding me???

Update: Simply EXPORTING your edited photo now requires a subscription? I have to pay to export my own image? Are you kidding me? You devs have lost your minds and can get out of here with that mess! Instantly uninstalled this joke of an app. There are hundreds of other free options, and even others I’d be glad to pay for since they don’t hold us hostage for cash. You people are ridiculous. Good riddance. ————Why not include a Camera Roll option in the Album picker? Some of us are working with pictures from the camera, screenshots, selfies, and downloaded photos all at once. The options currently provided limit what is seen by the user without a lot of guesswork and jumping through many different album options which causes so much unnecessary frustration. An un-sorted Camera Roll album option would eliminate this and allow us to work with ease. If this option gets added in an update, I’ll stick around and even subscribe, as I really do enjoy all of the features and feel the developers deserve compensation for their hard work. However, if this doesn’t get changed I’ll be forced to stick with Ultralight to get my needs suited, which is a shame because I really wanted Darkroom to be my go-to.

We recently added the option to also show screenshots in our recents album.

  • The best photo editor

I love this app. It’s a core part of why I love my photography hobby. The grain simulation is wonderful and the fact it’s so native to iOS is a breath of fresh air. I’ve been a user since it was a one time purchase app and I’ll forever subscribe to the pro version to support this. I loathe using Adobe products as a hobbyist and hate their model/costs when Dark Room is far better. I hope the developers never get acquired because this app is a gem. I can just quickly load RAW photos from my camera via a tiny SD to USB-C adapter on my iPhone in the Photos app, jump into Dark Room and do all my edits to the files, and do it on vacation or coffee shop without a laptop, it’s incredible. My only wish that would make it perfect… Add anamorphic desqueeze. So many lenses now and they the other desqueeze apps out there don’t respect RAW files and only export to JPG so grain just doesn’t look good no matter if I desqueeze before or after bringing it into Dark Room.

There's nothing wrong with an in app purchase. What it does is gives you an opportunity to try this app and get a feel for it before paying what they really should be charging which is a couple bucks. I know the curves aren't exactly what you might see on Photoshop or something computer-based, however I've never seen a curves application that works all that good anyway they're very sensitive and I never really use them. This does affect your image with a curves type process and I thought it did a very good job overall. Yes, I think that there are more updates that they could do to add more features to this; however, I'm liking it so far. And besides, it's free and if you want the curves it's a couple bucks...big deal! Less than a cup of coffee. The only thing that I don't like is the name because there's already a very good app that is full featured called idarkroom. It's way too similar of a name and I think you should find another name very soon.
