Winter Burrow

Does it get any cozier than a game about a mouse making a comfy home in the woods? Be forewarned: This storybook setting has an ice-cold edge, as each homemade pie or hand-knit pair of pants becomes a defense against the forest’s brutal winter. If you’re planning a long trek for supplies, be sure to boost your cold resistance with a hot cup of tea first.
I love this game; it has beautiful art and music with a nonlinear play style. There is always a reason to leave the burrow and explore the neighborhood. I don’t mind figuring out most things on my own, exploration typically moves quests along just fine. I like that there are bonus quests when you finish the storyline, just wish they used Christmas instead of solstice.
Overall, the game is cozy and cute with a good storyline, but sometimes it can lack a little direction. I think that might be intended to a certain extent because you’re supposed to explore the area, but sometimes some hints would be great. The toggle buttons are a little janky, but I am thankful that they put a way to get un-stuck, but just smoothing it out overall would be better. I’ve been playing this nonstop nonetheless!
I’m having the same problem someone else mentioned in their review. After completing the main storyline, and building all of the holiday lights, the crafting for holiday tree is not awarded. Only the two recipes - for holiday tree city and holiday tree nature are given, but they both require holiday tree burrow for completion and that was not given after hanging all the lights. So, effectively, I cannot progress further. This is very upsetting, because I thoroughly enjoyed the game.
I don’t normally write reviews, but I had to for this one. The game literally just came out but I am already enchanted by it! Many games marketed as “cozy” lack emotional depth, but from my experience so far, this game is bittersweet in that perfectly magical way that is so hard to achieve successfully. I’ve only spent a couple of hours on this, but I will probably be spending several more!
It’s an awesome game. I highly recommend it, especially paying for the full version. I loved playing it, especially the adventure part of it. My only problem is at the very end when you’re trying to make the solstice tree it’s not appearing to be updated. Everything‘s been completed. I built the whole house, but I can’t make the Christmas tree. Can you please update? I love the game.
This game has such a cozy warm ambiance, simple voice acting, an adorable art style. I couldn’t wait to play when I saw it in the app store. It’s simple and enjoyable. Tragic back story, compelling plot, and interesting side quests. It has a wonderful structure. Anyone will enjoy playing this game and it is worth more than the $6 I paid for it. I would have paid $20 for this game happily!
I have not played much… yet, but the little I have played is great! I’ve been wanting a survival game that plays like this for a while. It’s hit all the right “itches” (lack of better words right now) and the artwork is brilliant. I lost 30 minutes of my morning just getting started and didn’t want to stop at that point. Great work!
Heyy Im from korea and I really like this game but… I think there is an error…. As soon as I cleared tutorial I wanted to pay money and do more.. But It just finishes loading and doesn’t take money……. I tried all the buttons on the game and app store.. please fix or give me some advice for this… I neeeeeeeed to play this game…. (Fyi/ I have enough money and has a fine account and wifi)
Bugs:1. When you select languages(keep pressing left), all the words disappears.2. After finishing the decorating lights, it is supposed to be an option to make holiday tree burrower but it didn’t show up. The other two holiday tree shows up but can not be made because of the lack of the holiday tree burrower(the basic one).
This is one of the best game demos ive ever played, the graphics, the story, and the many things to do! Though i will not be buying the full game(cuz im broke) this demo got me hooked. Edit : i just read through the most helpful reviews, and theres a person talking about the lack of direction?? This is a metrovainia style game bro! What do you expect?
