Leica LUX - Pro Manual Camera

For this subscription it really needs the ability to control the shutter speed for capturing motion blur. The aperture mode is a bit buggy when processing depth of field; I’ve had some terrible results and it looks like AI processing that got confused. It’s also a bit laggy trying to take multiple shots in quick succession even on 17 pro max. Sometimes the photo doesn’t save to camera roll too. I wish I could save the maximum file size for all formats.
Resposta do desenvolvedorThanks for the detailed feedback. Manual shutter speed control is important for motion blur and it’s something we’re working on bringing to Aperture Mode in a future update. The issues you mentioned with depth processing and saving delays have been shared with our team. If you're open to it, feel free to reach out through the support section of the app, we’d love to gather more details and help where we can.
As a professional photographer, 20 years in, I adore this app. The looks are classic, timeless. Not trendy so you’re looking back in 5-10 years wishing you’d saved the original. I’ve never had more people ask how I get such good-looking iPhone photos than when I share those I took with this app. I’m on an iPhone Air and I don’t miss the higher quality pro cameras at all (well I wish I had the ultra wide, but I make do)
Resposta do desenvolvedorThank you for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled that Leica LUX has earned a place in your workflow and that you’re enjoying the timeless character of the Leica Looks. Happy shooting!
If you want the best photo app with genuine filters that have the best nestalgic looks right when taking the shot! Look no farther! I have tired all the other camera app! But this is the best if you don’t want to shot raw (not why you would on a regular basis) then this is by far the best! If you want to shoot raw and have manual controls, I find Halide is great.
Resposta do desenvolvedorThanks for the fantastic review, Joseph! We're delighted to hear Leica LUX has become your favorite camera app for achieving beautiful results straight out of the camera. We appreciate the comparison and are thrilled that our Leica Looks and shooting experience stand out for you. Happy shooting!
Leica Lux beats them all. It’s the perfect amount of customization without being over the top. I use almost every single look in the app for different photos and what mood I feel I want my photos in everyday. I do wish Leica would update the app with more artist’s looks though, that would be extra cool.
Ridiculous that there is a subscription fee. But the app is actually pretty good. I prefer taking photos on it IF I’m using my phone to take a photo. But can’t stand that I am paying monthly for it…and there isn’t even a video setting. Would be great to capture moody big eyes with these presets…might even justify the price. ::cough cough::
Resposta do desenvolvedorThank you for the thoughtful feedback. We’re glad Leica LUX has become your preferred app for taking photos on your iPhone. We also appreciate your perspective on the subscription and your suggestion for video support.
Hi Leica LUX team,I'm a Leica LUX user on an iPhone 18 Pro Max, and I wanted to flag some feedback about a recent change to the app.The quick-access zoom/lens options now only show 1x, 2x, and 8x. No 4x. The longer focal length simulations I used to rely on (90mm and 120mm Summilux) no longer appear as easily selectable options. I use these longer lenses regularly for my work, and losing quick access to them has made the app noticeably less useful for me.Could you either:1.Add the longer lens simulations back as visible quick-access options, or2.Make them easier to find/select in the lens picker if they're still availableI understand the zoom buttons may be tied to Apple's new camera hardware presets, but the lens simulations are a core part of why I use Leica LUX over the native camera app, and I'd like to keep using the full range. Thanks for considering this,
Resposta do desenvolvedorHi there. We fixed a bug in LUX 1.15 that caused the focal length issues on iPhone 18 Pro Max you are describing. Please update and let us know if you are still experiencing any issues. Thanks.
This app is great and the photo results are probably the best I’ve seen on an iPhone, but it doesn’t save your settings nor does it let you select a go to favorite set up. Every time you open the app you have to readjust everything and by then the moment you were trying to capture is gone. It’s a shame because it’s such an important feature that I have to cancel my subscription until they add it.
Resposta do desenvolvedorThank you for the thoughtful feedback. We’re glad you appreciate the image quality, but understand how frustrating it is to lose a moment while readjusting settings. We appreciate your suggestion for saving favorite setups and hope to make the shooting experience more seamless.
I don't like apps gaining access to my entire photo library so I have Lux set to access only selected photos in my library. But every time I open the app, it prompts me to select either my current setting or to allow total access. This gets in the way of quickly opening Lux via the Action Button and is a huge annoyance. Please remove this barrier! 🙏🏽
Resposta do desenvolvedorThank you for your feedback. We understand how frustrating those repeated permission prompts can be when you're trying to quickly launch the app. We'll continue working to improve the experience, and if you have any additional details to share, please feel free to contact our support team.
Super disappointing. I signed up for the trial and immediately realized the app wasn’t for me (it’s not intuitive and there is zero customer support to help answer questions). I cancelled it 4 days before the trial ended but was still charged $70 this morning. I’ve tried reaching out to you all directly to resolve this but can’t find customer support anywhere. I normally love and support Leica but this has been such a let down. Can someone please contact me to issue a refund?
Resposta do desenvolvedorHi there, we are sorry to hear this happened to you. The subscription is handled by Apple. We have no control over it, and we can't issue refunds. Please contact Apple (see https://support.apple.com/en-us/118223 for details). Thank you.
Saw it on Instagram, thought why not try it. Went through the installation and the prompted process, the found out toward the end it’s subscription base.Bummer. Unless you read down before installing, you’d never know until after signing in and all.Maybe the subscription prompt could’ve been one of the first steps?
Resposta do desenvolvedorThank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration with when the subscription information appears during setup. Leica LUX also offers a free version, so a subscription isn't required to try the app. We appreciate your suggestion to make the pricing options clearer earlier in the onboarding process.
