  • Replaced a lot of desktop work

    Khall178

I didn’t expect an iPad app to handle this much of my regular design work. I now use it for social graphics, quick logo ideas, and cleaning up sketches before sending them to my laptop. The file handling and export options have been solid for what I do.

  • Great for easy vector design

    DominoCA

I have a lot of vector drawing tools, but this is one of the easiest to use - the controls are a lot more intuitive than most apps! If only some AI generation credits were included in the Pro subscription - because I’m excited about the new feature, but NOT at the extra, separate cost above and beyond subscription!

    Developer Response

Thank you for the kind feedback! We’re really glad you’re enjoying Curve and finding the controls intuitive. Just to clarify: your Pro subscription includes 800 AI credits, and they refill every month. If you’re not seeing your included credits or something doesn’t seem right, please reach out to us at support@linearity.io and we’ll be happy to help!

  • Solid tool for client edits

    @Ajir

I use Curve when a client asks for a small change and I don’t want to open a full desktop setup. Moving points, changing colors, adjusting type, and exporting a new file is usually quick. For that kind of work it has saved me a lot of time.

  • Great app, too much push for purchases

    Gruntled Stan

Linearity Curve is a delightful vector drawing software. I found it especially useful when transitioning off scratch’s costume editor. I having been drawing a graphic novel and it has helped tons. Has all the great features and then some, but some important things are locked behind a paywall, like having more than 8 files or exporting jpeg. I do understand the need for money to stay afloat, but in app purchases should be completely extra. They should be look at this new feature, not we locked this behind a paywall. Otherwise awesome app!

    Developer Response

Hi Stan, thank you, and a graphic novel coming out of a Scratch background is such a cool story to hear. On export: JPG and PNG export are free, only PDF, AI and SVG export are Pro. Your files also never get locked if you go over the file limit. You're right that we should feel like we're adding things, not taking them away. We're a small team of about 20 people in Europe and still figuring out that balance, since development is expensive. If you hit anything that looks blocked, write to support@linearity.io and we'll take a look. Good luck with the novel!

  • New software update

    Dom Egdop

Yet to be seen if it makes a difference to the stand out tools the company touts as pro but the basic tools fit me just fine. Coming from a raster app like Procreate over to vector means that I can improve my skill without a hard outline or a drain on my time and create content that might need to be edited later (since I have the ability to resize and the export ability to take it into any application). I like the software so far and wish I had more time to work in Linearity Move. I did have to break down and get a Pro acct to get the export feature but it was worth it. Please don’t go doubling the price on us next year dev team and thanks for your long nights!

    Developer Response

Thank you for the kind words and being part of the community 🫶 We won’t be doubling the price for sure. All current subs stay on the current price :) if you have feedback always reach out! We’re reading everything

  • Great app, great service

    FriendRon

First off, I need to make clear that I am not a graphic designer. I’m a photographer with a long long history with Photoshop and Lightroom. But there are just a lot of projects that _need_ vector graphics and I didn’t want to give Adobe any more money. So I tried other apps, including Inkscape, but they just had too difficult an interface for the occasional user like myself. I tried Linearity Curve and I quickly picked up the “logic” of the user interface. When I reached out for help, someone (in this case Nadya) got quickly back to me and helped me solve my problem. So: highly recommended.

I’ve tried several different vector apps, and Linearity Curve is definitely a top contender. Its interface is well designed and a very comfortable streamlined environment to work in. Its environment just feels nice. Its tools are very easy and intuitive to use. It also features an auto trace function that allows me to translate any raster image into a vector image that I can add further vector elements to. All in all, this app is definitely worth trying out, it may turn out to be your favorite vector app.

  • Pretty good, export locked behind pro

    OSRnerd🎲📝

This app has some really nice features but for some reason the ability to export your stuff to print, etc. is locked behind pro. I’ll have to resort to screenshots for now. Really, I have to ask why it’s behind pro, if from many of the reviews I’ve seen I’ve heard that it’s simply pushed people away. I think that most people who pay for pro are doing it for the actual pro features, not simply for export.Still, good designing app overall

    Developer Response

Hi, thanks for the kind words and the fair question. You don't need screenshots anymore: export is open now, so you can export for print for free. Only PDF, AI and SVG export are part of Pro. We're a small team of about 20 people in Europe, and development is expensive, so Pro helps keep the lights on. If you need help with print settings, write to support@linearity.io, we read every message. If this makes things better, we'd really appreciate an updated rating.

  • Unexpected Charges Against Free Projects

    Robbed of $5

★☆☆☆☆I installed Linearity Curve to learn vector editing as a complete beginner. I downloaded several SVG files to my iPad for practice.I did not open the files from within Linearity or import them into the app. I simply went to the folder in the iPad Files app and tapped an SVG so I could view it. Because Linearity had automatically associated itself with SVG files, it opened instead of a normal preview. Each time this happened, it counted against my limited free project allowance. There was no warning that simply opening an SVG file from the Files app would use one of my free projects, and nothing during the initial setup indicated that I should change any file associations or permissions to avoid this.As a first-time user trying to learn a new skill, this was frustrating. If opening your own SVG files from the Files app consumes free projects, that should be made clear before it happens. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to uninstall the app and look for another vector editor.

    Developer Response

Thank you for writing this out so clearly, and I'm sorry your first steps with Curve went like this. You're right: when Curve opens an SVG from the Files app, it creates a project in your workspace, and that counts toward the free file limit. Nothing is lost though. On the free plan you can delete files from your workspace to free those slots again, and being over the limit no longer locks anything. For a beginner this should have been much clearer, and I've passed it on to the team. We're only about 20 people in Europe and still learning, so feedback like yours really helps. If you ever give Curve another try, write to us at support@linearity.io, we read every message. And if it goes better next time, we'd be grateful if you'd update your rating.

  • Almost Perfect

I absolutely love this app. It has been revolutionary in my life. The logical layout, the attention to details, and the frequent and meaningful updates are just some of the things that make this my go to app over all others. I would definitely give it five stars except for one little snag. After editing a file, part of my workflow is that I often need to jump out of that file and into a related one. I used to be able to do this quickly on older versions, but now, before it will let me open another file, it seems to have to go through an extended period of saving the changes to the one I just exited. This is only true for files that are saved to iCloud, but for me, that’s all of them. It appears as though it saves itself several times over before it finally allows me to open another file. On more than a few occasions, when I’ve had something important to complete, or I was in a major creative vibe, the lag caused from this has made me just close the app in frustration. I probably need to do a better job of regulating my emotions 😂, so I’ll work on that if you guys will help me out with the “endless saves before I can open another file problem”. Ok? Thank you for this amazing app. I’m not kidding when I say it has changed my life by making my creative process completely mobile like no competing app was ever able to.
