Paste 7 introduces the Intelligent Clipboard.
INTELLIGENT CLIPBOARD
• A new sparkle button in the Paste window suggests what you most likely want to paste next, and the suggestions update as you work.
• It runs on Apple silicon Macs with Apple Intelligence turned on, on macOS 26 and later. Allow Screen Access and the suggestions also follow what is on your screen, not only the app you are pasting into.
• Turn it on or off from the sparkle button's menu or in Settings > Intelligence > Clipboard.
DESIGN
• Redesigned onboarding: a new setup screen, side cards and artwork.
• The permission requests now use one wording everywhere they appear.
PURCHASES
• Failed purchases show a clear message in your language.
• Cancelling a purchase returns you to the paywall instead of showing an error.
• The renewal discount no longer appears when you already pay less than the discounted price.
FIXES
• Paste no longer quits when creating or renaming a pinboard fails. It shows an error instead.
• Fixed a crash at launch.
• The suggestions no longer repeat your newest history items before they have real suggestions.
7.0.0 28 Sept
Windows and panels now draw a single background instead of stacking one material on top of another, and a standalone window keeps the system glass look and corner shape on macOS 26.
Text in an item's edit window is readable again instead of black on black. Direct Paste no longer picks up modifier keys you happen to be holding, so what arrives in the other app is a plain paste. Renaming a pinboard keeps its tab on screen while you type, even near the right end of the tab bar. The AI settings are gathered into one Intelligence tab.
Search on a large history returns your newest matches instead of dropping them, and it recovers on its own when the system index stalls instead of going quiet. What's New looks and behaves the same on Mac, iPad and iPhone, and starting a trial now takes a single Continue with no notification prompt after it.
Under the hood: the notification code is simpler, a fresh-install launch check runs on every build, and dependencies are updated.
6.6.10 4 Sept
Paste now reads App Store introductory offers exactly as they are configured, instead of assuming every offer is a free trial. A discounted first year shows up as a discounted first year at its real price, and buying one no longer produces free-trial wording or a trial reminder.
Under the hood: an offer card is no longer written by a reconcile that has already been superseded, text recognition failing on a single image is handled per item instead of as a pipeline error, and dependencies are updated.
6.6.9 22 Aug
This update keeps Paste for Mac on the same version as an iOS fix for the Paste keyboard. There are no changes to the Mac app itself.
6.6.8 15 Aug
• Search keeps a selected result again. Return, Tab and the arrow keys work in the result list, and a second Return no longer opens an empty window.
• Selection is no longer stranded when you delete an item or a list empties.
• Copying something that is already in your history now behaves like new content: it is selected at the top of the window, the menu bar icon animates, and a window closed on a pinboard tab reopens on History.
• Stability and performance improvements.
6.6.7 14 Aug
- Pasting is instant again. Choosing an item in Paste puts it into the app you are working in right away — 6.6.4 added about half a second of delay before the text arrived.
- Fixed a freeze that could leave Paste unresponsive with the spinning wait cursor. Paste no longer re-reads your whole clipboard history from disk every time it saves an item, so it uses far less memory and stays responsive — the bigger your history, the bigger the difference.
- Search no longer goes blank for long stretches. Typing a new search now cancels the previous one instead of piling queries onto a stalled system index.
- The copy sound plays again when you copy something that is already in your history.
- Tab and Option+Tab now move through the filter browser.
6.6.6 6 Aug
- Paste no longer gets stuck relaunching when its history database, or a saved item's data, can't be read. It recovers, skips what it can't read, and keeps working.
- Search now finds items it used to miss. Paste rebuilds its index when your history changes, for example after moving to a new Mac or restoring a backup, and catches up on older items that were never indexed.
- Deleted items stay deleted instead of coming back after a sync.
- Items that used to get stuck and never reach your other devices now heal and sync through.
- Paste now selects the item you just copied, instead of the previous top item.
- Copying the same thing twice no longer creates a duplicate history entry.
- Paste Stack now captures items you copy again, instead of skipping them as duplicates.
- Direct Paste is more reliable in apps that are slow to regain focus.
- Copied 6-digit codes, like one-time passcodes, stay as text instead of turning into a color swatch.
- New items show their preview right away instead of "Preview unavailable."
- Settings, About, and upgrade windows now open in front of other apps.
- The Ignore Applications list in Settings works even when Spotlight indexing is turned off.
- Item selection stays correct while your history is syncing.
- Menus open faster, and the main window no longer flickers as it opens or closes.

6.6.4 30 Jul
- Search showing no results? Paste now detects a cleared search index and rebuilds it automatically.
- Activated a license from our website? It no longer gets dropped and asks you to re-activate.
- Editing uses the full height — long text scrolls clear of the formatting bar.
- ⇧⌘E reliably opens Writing Tools, cursor ready.
- The preview info bar is easier to read at a glance.
- Dark mode polish: proper backgrounds, nothing cropped or hidden.
- Under the hood: Paste now self-recovers from a rare error that could cause crashes at launch.

6.6.2 13 Jun
- Shift+scroll and horizontal mouse/trackpad swipes now scroll horizontal lists the way you expect instead of being ignored.
- You can save link edits immediately — Done is enabled whenever the URL is valid, even if unchanged.
- Unknown items now show a clear, readable placeholder so previews stay legible in dark appearance.
- The paste panel no longer steals focus when broadcasting Handoff, so your current app stays frontmost.
- MCP & AI Tools settings are fully localized.

Meet Paste MCP!
Connect Paste to Claude, Codex, Cursor, and other AI tools through a built-in local MCP server. Bring your clipboard history into your AI workflow, use saved context without leaving the tool you’re in, and ask your AI tool to search for something you copied earlier or create a pinboard. Paste becomes a memory layer your AI can use while you stay in the flow, with granular permissions and local authentication built directly into the app. Your clipboard history stays under your control.
Also in this build:
- Fixed duplicate clipboard entries caused by iCloud sync races, so identical items created during sync or migration are now collapsed into one.
- Fixed a launch and migration crash that could prevent Paste from opening for some users.
- Temporary sync files no longer grow without bound during active syncing, freeing up disk space.
- Shortcuts you clear in Settings now stay cleared across restarts, so removed shortcuts remain removed.
- Fixed a crash that could occur during Spotlight indexing, so indexing no longer causes unexpected quits.
- The main menu now updates when you change the selected list, so the New Text shortcut (⌘N) appears when available.
- On-screen toast actions and small overlays now respond properly to clicks.
- Share actions with no available services now show a disabled state instead of disappearing.
