Perplexity AI is an advanced AI-powered search engine that delivers concise, well-cited, and context-aware responses. Unlike traditional search engines, it synthesizes information from reliable sources, providing clear summaries with transparent citations. Its real-time web access and AI-driven contextual understanding make it a powerful research tool for students and professionals. The Pro version offers deeper insights, but even the free version is highly efficient. While it excels in accuracy and clarity, occasional limitations exist in niche queries. As a Campus Strategist for Perplexity at DePaul University, I’ve found it incredibly useful for academic research, saving time by providing precise and well-referenced answers. Overall, Perplexity AI is a game-changer for information retrieval, bridging the gap between traditional search and AI-driven knowledge synthesis.

I have perplexity pro and this app does a bit of everything but is good at nothing. I often find it struggling with understanding basic things. It often lies by saying I can’t do this or that when it did the exact thing in just last step. I think the level of hallucination in this app is pretty noticeable. It often struggles with basic nuance of human speech and is just all around a headache to use. AI is not really useful when it’s so challenging to use that you think you could have just done it yourself manually without the headache. Which brings me to the funny point, it often asks me to do the computing or data compiling or the menial tasks saying it can’t do it (it can). Well if I do that what do I need you for? While it supports all the latest models, I think the actual official ChatGPT and grok apps do a better job. I have to go to ChatGPT FREE version to complete botched tasks perplexity pro struggles with and to grok app FREE for reasoning because it is so difficult to get perplexity to stay neutral. It’s often condescending and in an effort to challenge user, it just needlessly keeps arguing for its position instead of providing simple facts. I have tried asking it to turn on robot mode but it didn’t seem to do anything. As a casual user who isn’t a coder or anything and just use AI for day to day assistance, i think if you are going to pay money for a subscription, just stick to chat gpt or grok.

Perplexity is insane. It gives reliable, verified answers and almost never fails to answer correctly. However, it is not at all user-friendly. In every chat, one has to scroll from the top of the chat, to the bottom and half the time gets stuck in the process. It also fails to load the chat a lot of the times. I would recommend that when one opens the chat, it directly goes to the latest reply, just like every other AI application. I would also recommend the feature of adding names to chats rather than display the first command as the title. Also, you can use the AI assistant only once in a chat, that is, at the time of creating a new chat using the voice assistant. I would like my AI assistant to have memory and I don't want to make a new chat just to use the assistant. If all these were perfect, I would give this 6/5 stars. I hope the developers will look into my suggestions and take it into consideration.

I am using Perplexity from the past six or seven months. It is a loyal friend supporter to me in every situation in my workplace. I recommend to those who are exactly looking for one solution particularly. Even today, I haven’t faced any issue while using Perplexity and it is very user-friendly and I am very happy to use this Perplexity and I have recommended to my colleagues. My family members to use it. It is far more better than the competitors in the market, I have used all the other competitors, but I am happy with Perplexity and I am very proud that I am a member of Perplexity users. Thank you team for creating this and sharing with us spreading knowledge and helping improving ourselves. Thank you once again.
