Automate, inspect, and interact with the iOS Simulator from Al coding agents. Debug networking, capture polished demos, and ship faster with 30+ developer tools.
RocketSim enhances the Xcode Simulator for iOS and iPadOS development: boost productivity and streamline your workflow with capture, networking, build insights, and quick actions beside the Simulator. Developers report building, testing, and verifying apps up to 2x faster per RocketSim Developer Research.
Key Highlights
- Polish screenshots and App Store Connect preview videos: open captures in the editor from the floating thumbnail, then tune bezels, touches, backgrounds, metadata, trim, and GIF export with App Store Connect-friendly dimensions—ideal for Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit demos
- Debug networking without proxy certificates: throttle or drop traffic, Airplane Mode for your running app only, and inspect traffic via RocketSim Connect; use Copy Summary when you need a redacted line to paste into Slack or an agent prompt
- Track local build time trends next to Xcode with Build Insights across versions
- Exercise universal links, APNs payloads, GPS and time zones, environment overrides, and a VoiceOver overlay with keyboard navigation from the side window
- Pro: Simulator framebuffer recording up to 120 fps for fluid motion
Feature Breakdown
Screenshots and Recordings
- Start from the Captures tab in the side window; after capture, refine in the editor before export
- Bezels, touch callouts, optional metadata, audio, trim, GIF conversion
- Pro: 120 fps framebuffer recording when supported
Networking
- Simulate slow or lossy networks without slowing your Mac
- Per-app Airplane Mode in the Simulator only
- Inspect requests and responses; metrics; cURL export; trace export; Copy Summary for redacted sharing
- Speed control and monitor share a dedicated Networking area in the side window for quicker discovery
Accessibility
- VoiceOver overlay with keyboard navigation for testing in the Simulator without juggling a device as often
- Environment overrides from the side window: Bold Text, Dark Mode, Dynamic Type, and more—without opening Settings.app
- Tinted Liquid Glass legibility live on iOS 26 simulators
Build Insights
- Build count and duration trends in the main and side windows
- Compare performance across Xcode versions your team runs

¹ Based on RocketSim Developer Research of 2024
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
New:
- Browser Preview can be opened from another Mac on the same network or a Tailscale tailnet with `rocketsim preview --lan`.
- CLI: added `rocketsim accessibility-audit` to return structured accessibility findings for the visible Simulator screen, including labels, traits, hit regions, element structure, and optional heuristic contrast checks.
- Added real-device bezels for iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and folded and unfolded iPhone Duo.
- Added iPhone Duo capture support: screenshots and recordings capture both displays and the live hinge angle, and render the fold pose through Apple's 3D folding model in the app, editor, previews, and thumbnails. Renders follow the Simulator orientation with upright interface content, support transparent or custom backgrounds, and use an automatic ratio that stays compact while folded and expands when the device unfolds.
- CLI: iPhone Duo support. `screenshot` and `video record` render the fold pose for every styled bezel, including the Duo-only `--bezel device3d`. `duo pose` controls the simulator hinge directly (without Device Hub or macOS Accessibility permission), and `duo hinge` reports the hinge state and angle. Plain Duo screenshots capture the display that shows the interface (outer while closed, inner while open) in that display's orientation.
- Rotating an iPhone, iPad, or iPhone Duo Simulator while recording is now preserved and smoothly animated in editor previews, thumbnails, and exported videos.
Improved:
- Browser Preview uses about 75% less CPU per streamed Simulator. Frames are now JPEG-encoded by the Mac's hardware video encoder and capped at 30 fps, and streams send about 80% less data to each browser.
- Browser Preview lowers its frame rate to 15 fps while any Simulator is recording, and recordings get priority when your Mac is busy, so previews never slow down a recording.
- Previews that no browser is watching, including the ones CLI agent commands start automatically, no longer stream or encode Simulator frames, so they leave RocketSim idle.
- Browser Preview skips accessibility refreshes while the screen is unchanged or the Simulator is recording.
- Recordings no longer contain bursts of repeated frames after a brief system stall.
Fixed:
- Network Monitor and RocketSim Connect no longer stay disconnected on Xcode 27 and macOS 27. If you installed the hook through Terminal, run the copied setup command again from Settings > Connect. (Thanks, L. Hurtado!)
- CLI: installing the `rocketsim` command into `~/.local/bin` no longer fails with "The selected folder doesn't appear to be on your PATH", including on machines where the user isn't your main account (for example a CI user). (Thanks, G. Ambrozio!)
- Starting a Browser Preview no longer freezes RocketSim's interface for up to a second.
- CLI: `rocketsim video record` no longer fails for recordings larger than 10 MB (about 20 seconds at 60 fps). Large results are now handed over through a temporary file.
- Browser Preview sessions now stop when their Simulator is deleted.
- CLI: `rocketsim` no longer exits silently with signal 133/134 when invoked from Codex's default sandboxed shell. The installed launcher now returns an actionable `sandbox_unavailable` response, while the agent skill requests the required escalation up front. Existing CLI symlinks installed through RocketSim migrate automatically. (Thanks, U. Di Profio!)
- Fixed individual rulers that could no longer be removed by dragging them outside the horizontal or vertical ruler strip. (Thanks, A. Hershberger!)
