Amazing software. Thank you so much for making it available for nothing. But! I’d really love a feature to turn off creation of proxies on-device. I presume it’s contributing to my iPhone 12 mini’s overheating. I get ‘system pressure’ all the time and can only shoot for about 10 minutes until I literally have to put my phone in the freezer. I have a Mac mini under the desk running the proxy generator. I really don’t need my iPhone to do it!Update: feature implemented! 🙌🏼

PLS give the option to make scrolling wheel position consistent with finger position!! Update 1.2 made fast and smoothly scrolling of any dial impossible, as anytime the speed of finger slowed to below a certain speed, it will enter a “precise mode” and barely move even if you swipe to the edge of the screen. The feel is very binary, and completely unintuitive. I would like to request that this feature to be optional or even reverted in the next update, as the previous version is already accurate enough even for a single stop adjustment. Also, there seems to be a bug when working with a Nucleus Nano, once in a while the image will zoom in to above 10x and stays there, or zoom in a little bit and out, which is quite weird. This problem persists from the last version, the probability of triggering dropped, but it still happens. BTW, big applause for the addition of false color while recording, save me the cost of an HDMI adaptor and an external monitor, and avoided a complex setup, thank you!

I use this app for my work on my iPhone 15 pro max, I’ve never had any issues. It is now all but unusable. Both cinematic and extreme stabilization don’t work anymore, they always worked perfectly 100% of the time, I get overheating errors in the app when trying to use cinematic or extreme stabilize - that’s with a cold iPhone that hasn’t been used. It’s a bad bug, and I never got it before, even when filming for hours at a time! You can no longer scroll through your media, it very seldom lets you scroll through your videos, this in intermittent - about 90% of the time you can’t scroll. Again, this never happened before. This app is now unusable. Oh, and I forgot to mention, it let me down on the day I was filming a property video and the home owner worked for BlackMagic and on this app, he was crazy embarrassed! And I forgot to mention, random dark splotches appear on footage now, you can see it happen when filming. As a huge fan of BlackMagic and pro user of this app, I feel betrayed, it cost me a client and ruined my shoot!

Great job Blackmagic!Apart from the list of features like log recording, and others would it be possible to have auto iso selection with a locked off shutter speed/angle?It is important to have the shutter speed locked but have Auto ISO for quick recordings?

Great app, versatile and well laid out UI. However when using the back main lens on my iphone to record gimbal and vlog work I always line up the shot using the apple watch preview function in either the native camera app or Filmic pro legacy. If you had watch preview Id swap over in a heartbeat, but its incredibly useful to use the watch to line up shots when the screen is facing away from me.

I do love the app and the constant updated that comes packed with added features!If I'd request a feature that would be:- is there any way to use the buttons on the phone as a custom buttons within the app? It would be nice to have LUTs preview on/off switch, changing focal length, codec selection etc.

Love this app and it’s easy to use interface. Have spent many weekends using this app to film outdoors. I do have a couple of feature requests:First, could we get some sort of subject auto focus tracking like you can with the newer DJI gimbals and pro focus devices? Secondly, could we also an auto ISO feature that works after we lock shutter speed? Depending on the shot, the light can change often and last thing I want is to adjust this while recording.Thankyou and looking forward to the new updates on the app!

I use the BMC app on multiple phones to record different angles for video, I often use the front camera for talking heads but on my brand new iPhone 17e the front camera never shows up as an option, regards of what resolution, codec, bit rate, stabilisation, or any other setting I use. The front camera works in every other camera app, but this one bug makes it unusable for me right now.. I’ll update the review if this ever gets fixed.

After trying various pro camera apps for some time, this is now my solid go to, and favourite. The remote control feature is excellent, and I find the extensive controls, but also ease of use really good.Definitely recommend.

Good app in general. One major bug i found is that when I try to open Blackmagic while my phone’s microphone is occupied by another app, the Blackmagic app will automatically select audio source to “none” and will not reset it back later on.A lot of video I recorded came out with no sound until i realised the sound bar is not moving later on.Hope u can add the function switch the mic back on, or to display some warning when there is no sound being recorded.Also sometimes, the lens switch bar disappears for no reason.
