The San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL) have announced a new partnership with investment management company BNY Mellon.

Under the deal BNY Mellon becomes the official investments company of the team and a founding partner of their new home, the Levi’s Stadium, which is currently under construction in Santa Clara, California.

The agreement, set to commence in 2014, will run for ten years until 2023. During that time BNY Mellon will have exclusive branding rights for the field level East and West Legacy Clubs at Levi’s Stadium. The clubs, located at the 50-yard line, will serve more than 900 guests each game day.

Additionally, BNY Mellon will receive in-bowl permanent and digital signage, exposure in 49ers radio and television broadcasts, hospitality, and the opportunity to host client events throughout the year.

“The vision for Levi’s Stadium has always been to provide an individually customised user experience through the use of innovative technology,” said 49ers chief executive Jed York.

“BNY Mellon shares a similar philosophy in utilising some of the most innovative thinking in the investment industry to develop specialised solutions to address their clients’ financial goals and challenges.”

Curtis Arledge, the chief executive of BNY Mellon Investment Management, said the new partnership would help the company to grow its footprint across Northern California and the US west coast.

“As a global investments company, we place technology and innovation at the heart of everything we do for our clients,” he added. “It makes sense for us to be closely associated with the best and brightest minds of one of the country’s premiere technology centers.”

BNY Mellon becomes the 11th founding partner of Levi’s Stadium, joining naming rights holder Levi’s, PepsiCo, Yahoo!, Sunpower, Anheuser-Busch, Violin Memory, Brocade, Sony, SAP, and NRG Energy.
