One of the things I find particularly meaningful about our work at EduPyramids is the opportunity to take practical technology education beyond the larger cities and into institutions that are often underserved. Through our MoA with the Jharkhand State Faculty Development Academy (JSFDA), under the Department of Higher Education, Government of Jharkhand, we are working to bring digital and technical skills to 64 government colleges across the state. Since July 2026, training has already been conducted in 20 institutions, reaching more than 2,000 students. The training focuses on practical, open-source and technology-oriented skills, including Python, C/C++, LibreOffice, Arduino and other digital tools. What makes this initiative especially encouraging is its geographic spread. Training has reached institutions in Dumka, Godda, Deoghar, Lohardaga and Giridih, as well as Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur. Several colleges have also conducted multiple rounds of training across departments. This is a good indication of the growing demand for practical digital skills among students and faculty. For me, the larger objective goes beyond training students in a particular software or programming language. Technology changes rapidly. The more important task is to help students and faculty develop the confidence and ability to learn and adapt continuously. This is also closely aligned with the vision of NEP 2020, particularly its emphasis on continuous learning, faculty development and technology-enabled education. I am grateful to JSFDA and the Department of Higher Education, Government of Jharkhand, for the trust and partnership, and to the participating colleges, faculty members and students for their enthusiastic engagement. My appreciation also goes to the EduPyramids team, who are taking this work to the ground and helping make practical technology education accessible across the state. I would also like to acknowledge the excellent environment at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay that helped create nation building tools, such as Spoken Tutorial. #EduPyramids #Jharkhand #HigherEducation #SkillDevelopment #DigitalLiteracy #FacultyDevelopment #NEP2020 #OpenSource #EducationTechnology #Python #Arduino #LibreOffice
