Hub-based Trusteer said today it has set up operations in Japan to meet growing demand for its cybercrime-prevention products.

“Financial institutions and enterprises in Japan are faced with the same malware attacks and account takeover threats as their counterparts in the rest of the world and are looking for effective ways to prevent cyber fraud, corporate data theft and advanced persistent threat attacks,” said Trusteer president Rakesh Loonkar.

The company has appointed Norio Miyazawa as country manager for Trusteer Japan. Miyazawa, formerly of Actimize Japan, SuperDerivatives, Japan and Algorithmics Japan, will head up Trusteer’s Japanese operations.

Trusteer Japan will offer the following products for financial institutions and enterprises — Trusteer Pinpoint, Trusteer Rapport, Trusteer Rapport for Enterprise, and Trusteer Mobile.
